Just for those of you that didn't know it was on, The annual Wakeboard comp is on at Glenelg the Patawalonga this weekend (10th & 11th of Jan).

Sunday will be the better day, with national and International Pro riders battling it out over a massive XSTAR wake, Kickers, Sliders & Double Up's. There is $15,000 cash prize for 1st place so that should bring the best riders!

Come down, smash some cans, cool beats from the Dj's - Get Inspired!

Never really taken a great deal of notice to the Wake scene before, but today was a great eye opener. Can see where the Kitesurf freestyle stems from.

Great entertainment apart from the delays between wipeouts......guess thats why kitings so cool.....back up & running in no time......even quicker if there's a Pointer about!!!

Does anyone else who went to 'wakewars' think that the organisers got it wrong by not ticketing the ocean side of the river with the massive hill? I might be wrong, but wouldnt have made more sence to ticket both sides?

The blokes on the mics were giving all the people on the far side stick for not paying and supporting the SA wake scene . But if the event organisers had ticketed both sides then they would have probably tripled the money taken and people would have been able to take better advantage of the massive hill/bank and see more than a third of the run without people standing in the way...

I agree....they should have fenced off the whole lot & put netting up to obscure peeping toms.

Plus due to the cresent shape depending what end you were at, you missed all the action at tother end!!!

I reckon the best place was near the skate park end on the freebee seaward side. The boys were poppin some killer moves up there once they got into the swing of things.

Yep.....they coulda monopolised it more in their favor!! Dare say they made a killin in the beer tent.
