this thread needs a shop guy lamenting the rise of the direct sales method, and the demise of the local kite store at the expense of the whole community, plus a plug for the superior brand that only they carry. Only then can this thread be locked.

Indeed.

Switch chose "cash for comment" as a marketting model, and, unfortunately, they've worn out their welcome here with too much spam from over zealous team riders chasing their commision.

Sorry.

They have their own forum, which is probably your best bet.

Yep I still love my S kites but disagree with their reward for comments move so can understand where you are coming from for sure Laurie.

Also it has been mentioned before that some Switch riders have multiple logins and start a lot of threads, for the record I only have the one log in and don't think I have started a thread about Switch (Or if I ever have it would have been years ago before they started their team rider rewards program).

I have simply answered questions and given advice where asked and occasionally corrected or questioned someone when they have given false info to discredit Switch.

Oh sorry, over your head was it?

If you're nicer to walk-in customers, you'll get more repeat business. See? Easy. Give it a try, then you might make some money and won't need the sarcastic butt-hurt comments about people's perceptions about your business.

*double whoosh*

We love serving customers, it's the only reason why we are in business. However if we do need some advice, it definitely wont be from some grumpy bloke behind a computer screen somewhere in Japan...

I would also like to hear some real reviews of the kite. Always on the lookout to add to my light wind quiver: 14m Rally, 16m Switchblade, 17m TS, 18m Zero.

I'm guessing this kite would have a better lower end than the TS but I doubt it would have a better low end than the Zero. The real question is how low can you go upwind with it or just if it's much better than the Zero?

It's quite cheap for a new kite that size. But I'm still on the limb if I want the Edge 19, the Chrono 18 or maybe even Flysurfer 21. Though I'm not keen on the Flysurfer as I believe the Chrono 18 has better low end?

Hell of a walk from here... I said "walk-ins" which means actual people who went into your physical store. Literally. The only whooshing here is business going past your store.

S'alright, the competition enjoyed their custom.

The Chrono will have the better low end. its a race kite so its a little more twitchy than the other big foil... good clean wind and solid kite skills are what you want to drive that. Check kiteforum for details from people who've ridden the Chrono and th Speed.

A lot of overlap in your quiver there, no?

Yeah that's what I read about the Chrono but unless I put some hours on a kite over a few different conditions I really can never tell how much I'll like it or hate it. I've had the most awesome and the worst sessions on each one of my kites. Really takes time and different conditions to learn all the ins and outs of these things; at least to me.

There's overlap but the biggest problem is deciding what to bring to the beach as everything wont fit in the jeep. :D The 16m Switchblade isn't being used as often right now but I'm keeping it around in case I trash one of the other kites. I usually bring 9/11/14/17/18 with me. The 18 is only used if it's blowing 12mph and under. Don't ask how many boards I have LOL those definitely don't all fit in the jeep. :(

Ain't that the truth! I tend to avoid my foils in winter with the NW gusty wind, but they rule smooth summer wind. Last time we had decent wind, it was 12 to 20 knots with gusts to 35...! Not fun on a foil...

If youve had foils before, you'll adapt quickly i think - ask plummet - but even seasoned foil riders have said they can be a bigger PITA than the lesser performing FSers.

I've got 16/13/10/7 and 21/15/12 in the car, and have my birds stashed at the lake... I'll take 3 with me if I travel though, I chose this car based on how much gear abd people I can get in :D
