a year late but what the heck
a mate has the 08, no new bar yet, i'll try and compare next time it is 30-35 like yesterday!
good stuff
holds heaps of wind, fast, manouevrable, depowers super well but still steerable
handles gusts really well
fantastic surf kite on 20m lines in 25kn+
dump valve at end of le
bad
nose line length out by 30cm on delivery!
rebels quite sensitive to nose line length, need to get right on all rebels otherwise they tend to get their le pulled under the wind (get wind on top of canopy - my analysis from experience) and fall out of the sky, find if the line is a bit longer this is not an issue at all
no ball valve on le pump valve, pain in the a to pinch off, especially on small size when lost air is relevant
not sure about iron heart, use surefire bar as deduntant back up anyway
all up hard to fault
we had 3 x 7m out yeasterday pm at south cott, i measured av 29-30kn gusting to 35kn. rode on a surfboard, dont gybe ride heel/toe side exclusively
never felt overpowered, never concerned at all, could do nice deep toeside turns even in those conditions
narliest wind i have ever been in, never would have considered it a kiteable day on fuels/octanes
dropped once when dumped and washed under kite, pulled rear line and upshe went, mind u anything will almost autorelaunch in the that wind
85kg, kiting 6 years, average ability, above average stupidity - kook proof connectors, 5th line safety works well
all up 9.5/10 (quality control could be costly to life/limb/kite as 7 being used in fairly extreme conditions - check line lengths)
everything i could wish for in high wind kite
