hey guys i just need an idea on a kite because i have no idea on which one to choose because theres so many brands and people have been telling me all these different brands.

so that would be awesome!

According to your weight you need a smaller kite size than those the companies report on wind chart (most brands use 70-75 kgr person for that you are 45 ) and since you are a beginer choose a user friendly kite. If you read at the descriptions they adressing what kites are for beginner - intermediate persons.

Get a delta shaped or a Sle kite (not bow they are old shapes) avoid the pure C kites and you will be ok. Brand well choose what you like most. Kites do have difference between each other but not that big that you think of . Its more on getting used to it how it fly rather than the brand

Fair comments. Wouldn't want more than a 7-8m. Best kahoonas, f-one bandits, Slingshot Rally, griffins and the list goes on. All got grunt. F-one and Kahoona are most refined of this list as are 3rd or fourth generation kites. Could even get away with a six .. really need another lightwieght to help you out!

My wife has just started learning she is 65kg and uses a 9m north rebel, however she prefers the feel of my 10m notrh Vegas better. Either way she is progressing very well.

demo as many as you can! you will find the kite.

8 mtr Slingshot Rally, best re-launch and stability unbelievable and it will last when you progress and want more out of the kite. you can either buy a cheaper 2nd hand kite ( not a bad idea) but you will want to trade up as soon as you gain confidence.. my advice is grab a kite and pay a little more and it will see you through beginner to advanced.. doesnt have to be new just a good kite. any kite at the end of the day will get you on the water havin fun !! 45kg? You must either be a small and skinny boy, or a small chick. Either way, at 45 kilos, almost everything in the size you need is going to be built for high winds for riders weighing in the 70-80 kilo range. This usually means you are going to be buying a heavily reinforced high wind kite which will be very heavy, and not be happy flying in less than around 15 knots.

Most (not all) small kites back stall and luff in very light winds and also become hard to relaunch.

15-22 knots is a fair old wind range and we had a young fella riding for us , about the same weight when he started and he used a 7m and 5m for that wind range.

The Ozone Catalyst is built light and not as powerful as a lot of other kites so it works super well for light riders in the lighter winds. Being small, you will also no doubt have shortish arm reach which rules out many of the previously mentioned kites. The Catalyst has a short bar throw and light bar pressure so all in all, it would be the most ideal kite for you for the conditions you mention. If I wcould think of a better suited kite, I'd mention it, but the Cats are the cream of the crop for smaller riders and women learning.
