Matt,

I flew an 06 Vegas before the Ion2's, it's a little lighter than the Vegas but not much. You get great feedback

Cool Mate,

I have also been testing the 08 Liquid Force havoc and it feels sweet, if you are looking for a lighter bar pressure give this one a try as well, I have a demo 12 available.

Brooksy I am flying an 06 Vegas now and really like it but am thinking of going to the Ion2 next. For a rider that likes the Vegas performance do you recommend the Ion 2 for a next purchase?

Flew an Ion2 10.5 in gusty 25 knot westerlies today. This must be the upper limit for this size as depower strap was all the way in and I sheeted out most of the time. Went upwind like nothing else I've flown.

I didn't notice the bar pressure at all. In fact, this kite felt like a comfortable pair of old shoes from the start. I usually ride Fuels and the Ion2 (4 line setup) was not dissimilar.

Boost was way bigger but in 30 knots boost is big on any kite. Quite a few guys tried it and all were liking it.

A more balanced report will be pblished when the kite can be flown in reasonable conditions.

So far I rate it 8.5/10

O,

I reckon you'll love it! It was a great step for me, my riding has improved and I feel really confident in all conditions. You'll probably also like the cleaner bar compared to the Vegas.

And kite boy is spot on - this kite does go huge!

Thanks to Jason aka WOK who gave me ago on the 8.5 today.

I've got little experience in kiting, but this kite was a machine IMO. I have only ever flown C's and a waroo.
First thing I noticed was how stable and smooth it was. Tried a couple of jumps but not being use to that much hang time before, I just kooked out basically. I'd need more time to adjust in that area, as you would between any kites. As far as gusts go, It just absorbed them with ease. To finish off the upwind capabilities really impressed me the most, obviously I wasn't, but it felt like I was going close to straight into the wind it was that noticeable.

Cheers again

Edit I forgot to mention the bar pressure was what I'd call just right. My C's really pulled my arms off and the waroo is to light.

Lovely kite, had a solid hour in 15-25 today on my 10.5 today.

Jumps like a mother and the bar pressure is just right, I feel that my kiting skills will improve with this new toy.
