Pretty sure these guys have been making foils, and have brought out a freeride and a freestyle kite, looks very airush like canopy , very nice inflight and nicely made, if they'd refined the bar it'd be such a nice kite, and pretty impressive for a new brand I was curious to hear off a couple of riders, have a look at ikon kites on the web, I think aks sell them

Yeh airush came to mind as well when I did some reviews.

Speaking of foil companies see fly surfer may be bringing out a tube kite with bridals along the trailing edge . Interesting.

You guys are pretty spot on, we cant hide things, I was working as a designer for Airush for many years. We started Ikon about 2 years ago. After one year of development we were ready to hit the market !

Quick introduction about Ikon Kiteboarding :

Ikon Kiteboarding is a young kiteboarding brand and already successful after one season on the snow and the water.
Our team has been working in the kitesurf industry for almost 10 years (ex AIRUSH designer, ex Ozone pro rider, ex Airush team rider) and we are happy to bring quality products at a good retail price for our customers.
The design team is based in Perth and in France to enjoy both summers :-)

Our product line is including 3 kites at the moment :

- THE PEAK / Delta Hybrid Shape with bridle/pulley : The PEAK has been developped to respond to all the freeriders out there. Simple powerfull, sharp turn, stability and easy relaunch make the PEAK a perfect all rounded kite to ride in any conditions.
The PEAK will also give you the best wave session, take off, forget about it, the kite will follow you.
Size available 5-7-9-10-12-15

- THE BLIND / Open C-Shape with bridle no pulley : When it comes to freestyle, riders want the best performing machine. More performant doesn't mean the easiest one. The BLIND has been designed for the most powerful moves with smoothness. From Unhook tricks, massive kiteloops or advanced wave riding, the BLIND is what you need.
Size available 7-9-12

- THE FOIL: The Foil is a foil kite available in 5 sizes and is the snowkite/landkite model.
-
The safety system can be changed from :
- Safety on both front lines (factory settings)
- Safety on one front line
- Safety on fifth line (fifth line parts included)

Cauncy, thanks for your comment about the bar. As a young structure, the bar development is the most expensive part. The first year, we did the bar with product available on the market. For 2014 we are refining the bar.

AKS is selling IKON and they have the Peak 9 and 12 for demo, so dont hesitate to contact Todd and Darren for testing.

Feel free to contact us for any other enquiries.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't bagging the bar, perfectly functionable, just needs a bit of refining to make a complete product, I was pretty impressed with the construction of the kite, not overly robust but with reinforcing in the needed places, id be pretty keen to have some time on this kite just looks like it'd suit , good luck with the venture

Hi guys,

Plenty already been said by the guys above which is pretty spot on. I think the thing that puts people off is that it is for most people, an unknown brand. There is plenty of experience with the design team and the kites are every bit as good as an Airush but with more choices in regards safety and setup, whilst remaining totally plug and play. We weren't that keen to take on another "start up" brand, but we've been seeing smiling satisfied customers since we started selling them, and that's all I can ask for from a kite brand, and their back up service is excellent due to Ben being a local boy! (Well as local as a Frenchy can be )

We've had quite a few people in to test and then bought on the strength of the ride they had. Even had one customer (Harry) try almost every big name in the store, then tried the Peak. He came in confused because he wanted to buy an expensive brand but kept telling me he had more fun on the peak. I said, "buy the one that makes you happest on the water". He did, and as far as I know, he's very happy with his purchase and saved him about $600

Ben designed the kite to suit most freeriders. It boosts big, turns quick, has loads of power and is fun and forgiving. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's an excellent kite for the majority of riders.

had another look at the kite tonight, quite dence gusty winds around 22 knts, the kite sat super solid in flight hardly any canopy flutter on the upwind flight, the was a rebel out that wasnt handling it as good, as mentioned quick turning and no stalling through the turn just a constant drive, looked pretty sick if thats your thing, as i mentioned before the bar is fine with a quick release im familiar with, under the float adjustments at the bar and at the kite with fool proof connections, time will only tell on quality but it looks the goods , well worth considering if your looking for a new kite or a 1st kite imo,

Wow......I really like the look of the Blind and the fact that it comes in a 7 9 12......you guys are on the money size wise......

I know that you are a young company so I hope my comments are not taken the wrong way, as I can appreciate all the factors and know that you don't have the budget, development the same as the bigger companies etc....

So if I could have a wish list.....

Mix between the Fone B6 bar and the current Slingshot bar, safety release like Ben Wilson. Kite build, same again Fone and Slingshot have it on the money with the placement of the Kevlar tape and the reinforcing on the struts, Fone have a better build on the values and Velcro straps on the values.

Again spot on the with the line step-up 4 lines, maybe a swivel like the Liquid force/Slingshot and above the bar trim.

De-power line through the center of the chicken loop with the option of looping it through the loop to fully flag when you release.

Great work guys all the same. ;)
