hi all, im looking at getting a set of systems, but unsure on what boot to get with them, tried to do a bit of research but not much relevant info and my local shop can only tell me what she can read off the brochure. im currently riding liquidforce vantage, but I love the idea of not getting cut feet wile walking over sharp ****!
whats so different with the process, AJ and the web? any info would be awesome.

Got the Web. Pretty basic, lower cut, rather wide boot. Simple everyday's sneaker laces. Not any near the comfort of a Ronix and not as snug but that's ok as the binding secures your feet and you have very little movement in the actual boot (if you tighten them properly).

I wouldnt have a clue what the differences are between them, but i was wondering why systems arent more popular and why more brands arent using the idea.
They seem like a great idea and i regulary find myself flailing around in shallow water like a beached whale trying to get my ronix boots off, and i think how good it would be to have some systems.
They also seem good in the way that you can do the boot up properly beforehand without having to do the laces up in the water with normal boots.

But is there anything bad with them?
Is their any reason why more people dont have them?

They're not all that they're cracked up to be. it's nice to put your boots on before launching the kite. but they actually fill with a LOT of sand while floundering around getting ready. Putting the first foot in is nice and easy, the 2nd foot is surprisingly annoying to line up in the baseplate properly.

I noticed one set of teeth on the binding has already worn out a bit and where the velcro strap goes into my process boot has torn a massive hole in the boot. That's after maybe 5 sessions and ironically me washing my gear way more than I used to. Gone back to using my 3 year old LF watsons for now.

Do you think the new yellow process boots would have any improvements?

That might be a bit helpful, at least in terms of stats of each boot. I can't vouch for durability quite yet, I'm only half a season into riding my Processes.

The Process and Marek are probably the stiffest boots out of the bunch that they offer. The Webb and the AJ are a bit lower cut and more flexible.

They are a bear to get on in deep water. If you can beach start, they're awesome, but it takes a bit of finesse to get them on in deep water. Off is easy.. on is.. interesting.

Also if you take a look at the review link I posted above, you can see that they're some of the heaviest boots on the market. On the flipside they are a lot stiffer and do allow you tighten them way down before you even hit the water, so there's that.

Some people care about the swing weight of their gear (board + boots), some people don't.

Also.. the first gen of the System bindings was absolute ****. They've come a long way, but it takes a while to shake that first impression.

Nah man I'll be looking at putting them on my wakeboard when i finally get a new one.

Look on Ebay US you'll probably find a good deal on it.
In fairness I think the velcro was more of a looks thing and wasn't meant to be functional, the stitching didn't look like it'd be structural. I'll fix them up soon and keep using them.
