Yes, it is a good Delta kite ezy relaunch, good quality bar & well built kite, one pump. You might like to think about taking the micro loop (lock & lode) off, it's a small loop that is on the bar so you can lock the power on.
We used the 7m in the school for some time it seemed fine. The best sizes are 10.5 down, the larger ones are a bit heavy on the bar & I can get going on the 10.5 better than the larger sizes in light wind.

What wind range would be suitable on the 7m for a 90kg rider? I'm eyeing off the 40+ knot front heading for Perth on Thursday... I've taken my new 7m out once before in about 27 knots, fully powered up, I don't really know how much depower it has got though...!

Haven't ridden the core GT, but I would have thought that 40+knts is way to much for a 7m. thats 5m or less territory

I rode the 7m GT at Kitestock in the big air comp and I was able to fly it in winds ranging from 35-40 knots. At 90 kilos, I had no problem in hanging onto the 7m GT on a small twin tip.

I used about 2 inches of depower/trim but didn't really need it. The kite has good depower but I would advise that you need to be a VERY confident, experienced rider to venture out in anything over 35 knots.

If you're capable of handling the winds, it's such a fun ride. Mistakes will also be punishable by death in winds above 35 knots so make sure you are up to it before venturing out.

Caveat: I am a strong wind rider with a lot of experience, I cannot stress enough that you should exercise massive caution when riding in winds above your comfort zone. If in doubt, don't go out!

Yep, hmm after reading the BOM warning and thinking about it I think 40knots would be well beyond my comfort zone. I'd probably **** a brick when I got to the beach and not put the kite up anyway

Er.. I may be corrected here... I think the Core GT is a very good kite but not really suited to beginers.

I had issues with the donkey d!ck - it had a real bad habit of dropping out, which was a shame as the bar set up in general was pretty safe and simple. Perhaps a replacement d!ck is easy for this? Recomended though as having that happen and snapping to full power is not fun.

Also the GTs have quite a heavy bar plus steering that needs a real oompf to get started, but then accelerates to very, very fast as the turn progresses. Don't mind admiting that it caught me out a bit at 1st. Awesome in capable hands but a spanking for newbs who tend to over-correct I reckon.

Good kites but maybe not ideal for newbs.

I agree in regard to the donkey dick thats the the reason I do ride with the SS surefire spreader bar, best of both worlds IMO.
