Personally, I think the 13 is a good kite but the other sizes of Drifter are amazing (if you get what I'm saying). I think the 12m Reo is the perfect big wave kite. Feel, speed, drift, and low end are all incredible on it. I believe that the 13m Drifter can turn a lighter wind wave session into a lot of fun but I think the 12m Reo wins out.

I am 100kg and am heading this season to a Liquid Force 12m Solo for waves. Light 1 strut kite that flies forward in the wind window.

I tried the 15.5.m solo... definately more lowend, but not as much fun to throw around as the 12m.

When sheeted out, it flaps and very efficiently drifts back into the window.

Not yet sold on the smallest Solo kites yet, but 12m is fantastic and I have ambitions of getting out in the waves before the chop messes with the surfing conditions too much.

I have a 12 meter kite Reo 2102 and is an amazing kite . I now have a 15.5 meter Solo kite. The solo is a big kite and can turn fast if you ride it with 17 meter lines and long bar(smart bar from Air rush) . What is amazing about the solo is the low end and it doesn't drop of the sky when is 5 knots. I have been riding the Solo on a SUP on small surf between 5 to 10 knots. Also on surfboards in winds from 8 knots On big surf I am not sure if the kite will hold due to the narrow leading edge. Demo one before you buy any other kite.

Castilojf thank you for your input, I use to have 12m reo (very good) and I use the BWS pro 12m at the moment I have a costum-made light wind surfboard made and its amazing, so I am looking for kite that will have more grunt then 12m and still drift? Dose solo15.5 punchable?

Hi Truster. I am not sure what puchable means. The material is strong but I haven't been on any strong surf yet. I thinks the material is stronger of all my other kites. BWS, Naish and AirRush

Big z, yes had a go on BWS xxL, compare to 12m bws, it doesn’t drift better in low wind, it dose go up wind better, but on the wave ,no advantages

Interesting. Would you say that XXL is more into the freeride side of the spectrum ....

Hey Truster,
my m8 had the 13 drifter and thought it down on power & responsiveness a bit. He's on a 12 dice now and is happy with that and a large model celritas SB from SS. I liked the 13 myself but the extra knot u are supposed to tie into the steering bridle had not been done and was probably why he thought it down on power. As I said, it didn't worry me. His next kite up is the flite 17 and catches tons of waves on it, which I have seen. I heard good reports from another guy but not seen that one in action.
17 defo drifts great, but don't know about going into the wind. They do a 14.5 which I will get but not for a few months yet. I have the 12 and 9.5 prodigy, which are basically the same kite. I can say they slackline beautifully downwind and are also great running into the wind & not ripping you off the wave.

BIG Z the XXL is a full wave kite , not more free-ride, turn well for it size, relaunch well, and comfort on the wave is good, I just fund it didn’t get me down the line any earlier, it did get me on the water earlier!( just my opinion)
