It's a bravo sup pump, these were shipped with imagine inflatable boards in late October, in a 1L slimfit form.
With a kite you don't need the choice between single and double stroke. This is handy for an inflatable sup where you need to do volume (2 stoke) and then pressure (single stroke). In single stroke it pumps at pressures above 10 PSI easily, most kites are 6-8psi, some race kites are 8psi LE and 10 Psi struts. inflatable sups need to be pumped between 15 and 22 psi, so volume (double stroke) till you get to 10 and pressure (single stroke) afterwards.
The sand filter is a 'nice' touch (read-marketing gimmick), but most of the sand we find in kite bladders at repair time is due to sand in the hose, dropped on beach then connected and pumped in.
The offset feet make it easier to stand a little back from the pump if you get a sore back. But as a core retailer the original core pumps were $70 while all the other manufacturers were $45, so I dread to think what this this will be with all the new witchcraft inside.
Pumps last a year, two if you are lucky and careful, at $45-50 its not a big investment.
They are almost all made by bravo, the bigger brands have better buying power, and more leverage so are generally cheaper by $5 or $10.
There is heaps of talk about cheap $20 pumps from camping stores, big w and the like, they are generally plastic shaft, crappily sealed and designed to pump a blow up bed once before you throw them away, you are better using $20 notes to light the stove.
But if you want to make friends and influence people, at the beach anyway, go electric!!
just get a sponge and attach it to the "deflate" side of your pump, that stops the sand getting sucked in and ruing the pump seals. Been doing that for years and helps heaps
If you really need oneof these they are $46 from bravo Australia's ebay store. Or you could pay much more for one with a core sticker on it from a kite shop.
at 50 year old I have to really on technologies.I just got an electric pump and I am very happy. It is not to save time to set up the kite. It is to save my energy so I can spend more time on the water. Another Plus is I can change kite on the same session with out burning more energy pumping air on the 17 meter kite. Also I will not be carrying the electric pump far from the car park. If I have to walk to a spot then I will carry the manual pump. I would buy a manual pump if is better than the normal pump. In kite forum someone wrote Naish company is testing a larger pump.
