I thought I would do a little review on the woo. At first I thought it's quite expensive for soothing that only dose 1 thing. But honestly, it's awesome. Easy to use, battery lasts for ages and the app is awesome. It's cool seeing what other people around the world are boosting.
The app is a little pain in the ass, when trying to put in your home spot. If it's not in there database you can't put it in. You have to sent them an email to get it put on and wait for the next update.
The sticky Base plate is quality and once it's stuck it's not coming off.

I had my first proper big sesh on it today. Was a stonker.

Honestly it's worth the money, you won't be disappointed. would be even better if all your mates have them too.

Can you also gps plot your session, average speed, distance traveled etc? What if you have multiple boards?

Hey mate. Na mate it dosnt record the sort of data. It's records the time of your sesh, every jump, the hight of the jump and the G force on the landings.
As for multiple boards. The woo clips into a bracket that is stuck to your board. In the packet it only comes with one bracket. I didn't get mine from a shop so I don't know for certain if you can buy the bracket on its own, but surely you would think so.
Really is quite an amazing little gadget. Hit drury up at kite power I'm sure they can sort you out.

No cant do any of that, maybe check out the xensr that looks as if it will do all that. If you have a few boards you can buy a couple of extra board mounts

faaarking secure. I was a little worried the first time I used it when I was throwing down wakestyle tricks when I get tired of boosting. I caught some serious front and back edges. the woo held up fine. at one point I looped and landed in the shallows, caught a front edge on the sand and did a front flip onto my face on the beach. woo was still there. if it can hold up to that abuse, im sure it could handle every thing you throw at it.

I think plummet should get one. he's always talking up his big boosts.

And me!

I tried to record it using my bicycle GPS Garmin and it was pointless. Yeah I got the tracking, speed, avg speed, etc, but when it came to height measurements, the stupid device said I had gained 2730m!! WTF!? I put it through Strava (again another useless website unless you're a cyclist) and it flattenedd my entire height profile to ZERO meters! Arrghhh! So officially, I did not do any jumps what so ever, just mowed the lawn (Kami - NO IT WAS NOT THAT VIDEO! It was from the day after and no video evidence)

I am getting a Woo and a GoPro!

Hey Kossie, it might not. There was a lot of discussion on the other kite forum about this and it seems that the Woo identifies the excelaration of the board as it leaves the water and starts it calculation of height, finishing when it senses the board hitting the water. I tested it out by trying a few different things and I can get it to record a jump other than using it correctly on the board, on the water

Xensr have said that their device will be available in Aus in 4-6 weeks. According to their website this device will do a lot more and can be used for other sports like MTB and snowboarding

Seems a bit steep for two pieces of plastic and two pieces of 3M tape.

I stand by my original comment.....it still seems pricey for a couple bits of plastic and tape.

Injection molding - you're not paying for the materials, you're paying for set-up costs. The mold are probably tens of thousands of dollars...

I'm a designer and spend about 3 months a year (for the last 11 years) in plastic factories in China. Tools are about 4-8k dependent on steel quality, cavity numbers and complexity (moving parts in the tool) and I'll cost the plastic at no more than 10c including material weight, labour and factory mark up. The 3M tape I'm not sure but couldn't be more than 10c. i think when when you purchase a Woo for $250-300 you shouldnt have to pay an extra $30 for an extra mount that cannot cost any more than 20c.

Its $30 for TWO mounts. A board handle costs $10-$15...

Did you try that line when buying a computer/smart phone and/or any of their accessories which are manufactured in far greater numbers than the Woo... This is just the world we live in.

Nope and I also didn't question the $250 when I bought my woo. However, I can see value in the woo device. It's got a lot of R&D, electronic components,a great app and it was a great idea. I have trouble seeing value for money for a couple of bits of plastic that they had to develop and sell with the woo anyway. But you are right this is the world we live in.
I'm not having a crack at kitepower as I have bought many things through you guys and think your service is great it's more of an general observation of pricing.
