I was given one of these little beauties by the guys at Windwarrior to test out and give some feedback. Cheers Alan

Essentially the Blast shield is a wetsuit vest
all the tech specs here......
check http://www.windwarrior.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4&Itemid=8

My take on it. well made, much better quality than west, Quiksilver and rip curl vests all of which i have had, all of which lasted less than a season. When you hold it it feels heavier than these makes too.

Stitching is blindstitched on the outside, nothing on the inside which makes it super comfy and no funny marks on your bod when you peel it off

I found absolutly no restriction in movement, even though its tight as when you first put it on. Also found no water retention around the harness either which is a big bonus.

I was out at Pt walter yesterday in howling gusty as winds and was toasty warm. I normally dont shed the steamer until at least after xmas...i feel the cold!! But the wetsuit is now off.

thoroughly recommend the Blastshield as a serious bit of kit that will most definatly kep you toasty warm.

Don't joke. Reef make something called a "thermo-blast" which is essentially the same thing.

being based in South Aus the water can be alittle cool
I bought one of these blastshield tops late last year and have been wearing it under my wettie through winter and have had it out with a pair of boardies twice now.
It's super tight to put on and take off (this is what the guys at windwarrior suggested was the way it should be) but man is it warm.

I thought I was going to be up for a new steamer this year but with the Blastshield i reckon I can easily get another season out of my old 3mm suit so I reckon after buying it (yes i paid for it and no I aint no pimp) I am saving money !

Windsurfers have been using them for a while now, but the guys want to see if it will work fo your average kiter. Hence me testing for them.
All we need now is wind
