I'm looking for some help/advice on which kite to buy. I am looking to buy a smaller kite and am torn between the Switch Nitro 3 8m or Switch Element 2 7m. I currently have a 14m North Fuse and 10m North Evo.
keep dropping down the aspect trail maybe...fuse to Evo to element. Stability in the higher winds you will be going out with it on. What year Evo ya on? Might be to bigger gap down to a 7m element If you are on a pre 2014 Evo, which maxes out earlier.
As noodlesrominov mentioned the Element 3 has just been released so you may want to consider that as well.
I have only tried the original Elements not the E2 or E3 so can't really comment about them only that they are marketed as a user friendly all rounder and I'm sure that would be the case.
I do have a 10mtr Nitro 3 and love it, particularly for jumping and powering upwind, so my recommendation would be the 8 N3, however as eppo pointed out the 7 E2 or 3 would probably provide a bigger gap from the 10 North Evo.
I have a 14m Fuse, a 9m Fuse and a 7m Evo.. all 2013. I also used to have 10m Evo2012. I'm planning to buy a 10 Nitro3 for next season. Based on product description, reviews and aspect ratio I'm sure the Nitro 3 would be more towards Fuse performance and Element 3 would be toward Evo performance. That is Nitro3/Fuse are both described as a high performance freeride kites whilst the Element3/ Evo are both described as all round / easy to fly/ beginner (to advanced) type kites. I m sure the Nitro will sit more forward in the wind window than the Element - same as the Fuse in comparison the the Evo, and fly upwind better than the Evo/ Element. From what I can gather the Nitro3 will give bigger boosting but the the Element will drift better if you want to go wave riding. As I said I have not yet owned a Switch kite so everything I think is based purely on what I have read.
Thanks for the advice guys! I didn't realise the element 3 had been released! I like the sound of the nitro more but I think going for the smaller element will give me a bigger wind range to get out on the water which is most important for me. Element 3 it is!
