Hi All,
Im just about to organize my first kiteboarding lesson and if it's as much fun as it looks i am thinking of buying some new gear. I'm 5,10 about 87kg's and have been reading up on a couple of kites. I was thinking of the Naish cult or the North Rebel. Can anyone recommend either of these kites or give me any other kites that might be suitable for me.

and for the kite equipment
Try before you buy
Ride and Fly as many demos as possible
You would be crazy to buy a kite without having flown the one you intend to buy.
Your Kite Instructor should have a good idea as to what size/sizes you might need

Where do you live mate? The size of your kite will depend on the average winds where you live. I am in Brisbane, most people your weight, myself included, use around a 12m and if you are realy keen a 15m for those light wind days and a 9m when it is nuking. However todays bow kites have a much larger usable wind range so alot of people get away with one kite and some times two boards. It would be good if you g0t a chance to fly the Riot by Core Kites. It is a bow kite with a fith line for saftey. The fith line has an adjustable stopper ball so as you progress you can move the stopper ball closer to you for faster relaunches.
