Hi all,

Just wondering on what people's thoughts are/experiences have been on North Nuggets? I'm trying to decide between the 5'3" CSC or the 5'2" TT.
I have not been able to find any reviews of the 5'2" TT or any comparisons between the two.
I weigh 95 kgs and generally just want to use it for a bit of light wind fun and in small waves. I'm not sure how the two different shapes affect the light wind capability or whether the shape doesn't make much difference at all?

Thanks
Paul

I have the older 5.5 version and 5.3 CSC and I think they are both awesome boards.

My preference is the CSC, a cracking board.

+1 for the CSC.

I have the 5.0 CSC and it is a dream to ride on in light winds - superefficient, crazy upwind, turns on a dime when foot in the back, and pops off the water easily and sticks to your feet like glue. Really just an awesome LW board to mess around with in flats, chop, or small to medium waves - get one, you wont regret it.

The 5'2" TT is based on the older shape so just look for a review on the 5'2"

The 5'3" CSC is for heavier riders and the 5' CSC has about the same bottom end performance as the 5'2" TT

I have the 2016 5'3" CSC nugget at 83 litres of shiraz and its definitely a light wind and upwind flyer.

Has given me the ability to go out in at least 5 knots lower wind and have fun with the same kites.

Thanks heaps for the replies.
I have ordered the larger CSC based on peoples advice , as I'm 90 odd kilos and definitely want it for light wind use swell as mushy surf.
Arrives next week can't wait.

Good decision, you won't regret getting a CSC. Let us know how you like it! The more you ride it, the better it gets!

Hi Paul, great board for light wind. Depends on your level. I've tried a couple of nuggets and found them having way too much volume for my liking (5'2). When doing sharp cutback in hollow waves my front foot came off the board a couple of times. That being said, a mate of mine started wave riding 6 months ago and its the perfect board for him to become comfortable jibing and riding waves.

I like the idea of a Nugget for light wind days.

I was wondering what sort of surfboard do you use for stronger wind days that goes well ?

Is there anything better than a Firewire Vader + North Nugget combo

Best boards I've ever ridden were second hand surfboards - less pressure on the knees as they have a bit of "give", but they also tend to give a bit too much and snap as they were never made for big turns with so much force on the tail. They also tend to snap when you ride into a big ball of whitewash to get over sets and I've boards snapped between my feet as I tried to get over whitewater.

The tomo vader is probably the best manufactured board on the maket for wave riding. I've had bad experiences with other manufactures boards in the past.

Therefore buy a "new" second hand board on gumtree for $60 -$120 every 3-6 months.
