I absolutely hated the Mystic Warrior III - but dont let that turn you off, that is just me, the harness didn't suit me but that isn't to say it wont be a great harness for you - you need to try a few.
Eppo - I have used the nitrous shorts a few times now and have to say they are great, they dont cut into me anywhere, ride up, feel uncomfortable, I barely even know they are on - but as per above, that is just on me, give them a go if you can. I am hoping to get out today for the first session with a Dynabar V7 on them so will post an update later today or tomorrow fingers crossed on how that goes.
Yeh the ion shorts dug in at the top of the harness. I have an ion waist harness and the riding up is not really the issue as I keep my kite very low unless jumping. It's the load spread when jumping. It is centred around the waist area and over time I get lower back soreness. And the dude below is right can't generalise back pain. Mines more of an annoying soreness that reduces my time on the water. also over time I started to pull a stomach muscle here and there which can turn into hernia if not careful. On a seat harness this doesn't happen.
But I prefer a waist prefer the feel prefer not getting my balls smashed and prefer not having to use yet another accessory like a dynabar which I did do until the weld snapped. I like it swivelling in the surf. Just more simple. Also leaves the legs free for some stuff with the board when I the air. The seats reduce this agility. So overall of like a waist that doesn't cause this lower back soreness. Just wondering if one exists.
You have to remember I'm going big on the edge on the way in after a wave and even bigger on the way out. I spend nearly as much time I the air as I do on the water. Well that's not entirely true but you get where I'm going.
