well last year I experienced over head clean breaks only twice... im looking forward to some more this year but what kite would you wanna be on?

the best two days where consitant 15 knots but the others where insanely gusty and very onshore that required duck diving at points.
My favorite kite for the conditions last winter was a 9m atom as it felt like it was acctualy defying physics to pull out the ****.

so what kite would you want to take out to battel with you when the fronts come through this year?
im thinking the 5 or 7m NEW just cus it turns hell fast and rides hell well at the top of its wind window and has 5th line if its really that strong. or runner up choices the atom, rev or

Ah Kitecrazy, thats an easy one. Ozone Instinct Edge II, 7m for wave riding and boosting in those 40 knot squalls, possibly the only kite with the true wind range to handle winter squalls.

So can't wait to try the 7m in 40 knots! OMFG, I'm gonna buy a parachute

Most bow kites can be pushed past their normal useable wind range in squalls, but they look pretty ordinary and the canopy starts to backwind, they start pitching and causing jellyfishing and wingtip clapping. Steering goes to hell and it tends to become survival kiting on most kites where the rider is in the grips of terror and hopes it all ends soon.

Some kites hold perfect canopy shape, feel great and behave perfectly when really overpowered and allows the rider to go searching for big clean ramps to boost massive! You'll not know what I'm talking about unless you have tried the Edge II, so all is forgiven

It's good you said "possibly" cus you haven't tried a NEW obviously, 25-38 knots easy... gimme more and i will tell you how it goes with pleasure but really 38 knots is the strongest wind i have ever experienced but it looks like from how ben was riding its sweet fark all to a fuel.
how many kites have you tried kitehard? interesting how now you aren't selling airush you have stopped pimping them so much no mores... you could have got away with a pimp fest but that post sounded like pure ignorance to any other kite out there.

c'mon you lot. If you actually kited mean arsed frontal systems you might know what Kitehard is talking about. I've kited ozone for one and half years now and won't go to any other brand because they hold straight up canopy and power feel in ridiculous situations.
Try 16knots gusting to 38kn. 9m ozone no probs.
I've had 08 kites clapping their hands together in 38knots, even had one fold it's LE under itself, like its upper lip had dropped. Kites that you can't control when the conditions go mental aren't worth having down here.

So in answer to your question i'm looking forward to my Ozone quiver this winter. (13,9 edge 2 and 7m sport2).


This was last year, try a 9m ozone sport and it actually is FUN. Not just hanging out the back on your arse waiting for the wind to go so you can get in and land.

Who said anything about Bows? I can't remember a 7m that couldn't be flown in 40knt and many 9m. So with your new criteria we have now narrowed the field to 40

I do try to get on as many of the major brands as I have time for when I get a chance. I'd like to fly a New, but I haven't seen any around Pinnaroo yet.

Who says I don't sell Airush anymore???? Airush released their kites last September so everyone who was interested in the 08 models has already either tried one and didn't like it, or liked it and bought one, what would be the point of raving about a kite everyone is well aware of and is due for supercession in another 4 months?

Ozone kites were released to the West coast in mid February, in fact we first flew most of the 08 Ozone kites at Kitestock, I received the first shipment of kites in early-mid March. I reckon they're the best kites I have flown in my 8 years of kiting ..... by a country mile.

If you felt you had found the holy grail of kites, wouldn't you want everyone else to be riding them too and experiencing what you feel everytime you ride? When you come across something so exciting, you just wanna share the stoke.

Pimping? Nup, it's just telling it like it is! Why not take the Pepsi challenge and ride one in decent wind and see for yourself. If you ride one and disagree with me, I totally respect that, but I reckon you'll find I'm not talking them up any more than they really are.

Cant wait to test the top end of my 7m Ozone Sport 2 this winter, its not hype its just a great kite, try one out before you buy your next kite!!

You will be amazed how good these kites are!!

ive got a 6m switchblade 3 for 16-35/6 knots and i weigh 46kg. its got huuuuggge depower and people who weigh 80 kg have used it in squalls to 50knots!!!!!!! well thats my winter kite sorted and for the light wind days the 10m switchy 3 for 8-22knots.

Hey Devil, what side of the Island do you kite? I guess you only kite frontal systems as you cant get a seabreeze, right?

I have flown kites in 50 knots. It is my job and it's done full time in Australia.
NEW kites land like the video shows.
- The kites are relaunchable from this safety release.
- Relaunch has soft controllable qualities.
- It’s possible to control NEW kites angle of attack with the safety line while relaunching.
