I had a boost wave downwinder the other month in 25 to 28 knots on a 2011 10 m Vegas.I had a ball ! . The long depower strap matched with Shinn Wave Mutant alowed me to control speed and high wind power enough to ride waves only just , but I had a huge capacity for massive boosts at full power .
I have a 2013 m Reo which i love for wave riding on a surfboard, but I don't like it when going for a punt as its 3 strut design makes it a little unstable in the air when I compare it to my Vegas.
I'm looking to get some Ideas together for a 5 strut wave / boost kite for 30 knot conditions on a 7 m and riding a Shinn wave mutant. I have tried a few other 3 strut all rounders such as the varial x and the catalyst , but the same stability issues in almost nuking conditions with a 3 strut design. The catalyst is to slow and the varial x had bad drifting and was unstable in the boost.
Anybody owned a good boost /wave kite with 5 struts?

Purchased a Peter lyn fury 11 meter, 5 strut good boost and hangtime. light bar pressure and good in the waves too.
Also has great upwind ability.

I was pretty impressed.although its not marketed as a wave kite it does ok.

Hope this helps. Mine is a 2012.

Bandit, c4, both very stable , good boost and work in the waves with input, also wainmann rabbits , not 5 strut but most brands have gone to 3, carnt beat a 5 strut as a big wind kite imo

Must admit Evo was the first kite that come to mind when I read your question....

Core Xr3 is pretty good at boosting and it also does alright in the waves, been out in 30 knots on my 10m and it behaved fine.

If you want nose bleeding height and rediculous glide look at the ozone edge. Work really well for mutant riding, boost and wave ride. Sure it wont ride down the line as well as a reo. But it is possible and when your flying through the air like superman you want give 3 flying farks about it.

Best TS would be a good option. The small sizes are insane in waves and they jump/loop great as well. Awesome kites! Sounds weird but the Slingshot Rally is pretty cool as well. It has some of the best hangtime I've found and it's designed heavily around wave riding so you'll get the best of both worlds. LF Envy as well... love that kite in the 7m jumps absolutely massive (though it is 3 strut)

Yeh I'd have to agree with dury, I'd add the rally and TS to your list to try, with the TS my preferred option. Think the rally would drift the best out of those. The evo (been on it for a couple of weeks waiting for my damn dyno) has surprising drift qualities for a kite that jumps so well. Both the rally and Evo are 'athletic' kites, fairly solid and consistent power delivery. Think the Evo would pip it in its behaviour in its top third, the delta origins in the rally really kicks in I found, becomes a handful.

will cast my vote to consider Takoon Furia, 5 strut, a quality kite with huge euro pedigree,
for freeride (boosting) and surf competent.
owned the Phi series 13 and 9 for my 2014 kit.
well made, great value and allowed me to progress with ease
went the 5 strut for stability, smoothness and huge range,
ticked all the boxes in both disciplines,
user friendly, light on bar and uber easy to control..
- still looking for 2015 kit - more focus on surf

Prodigy is mega stable in nuking winds, takes a beating, drifts 2nd to none and doesn't rip you off wave faces into the wind.
I rode the 9.5 in 35kts on 15m lines. It was a desperate session and nothing fancy but it got me out there. The 6m kites were overpowered that day and only one other kite (noise pro 6m) saw the session out with me. Both these kites were solid in the sky, but to get a great boosting kite that is sick in the waves is just not gonna happen as the best wave kite won't be a patch on the best jumping kite and vice a vesa. That's just how it is.
Reason wave kites are three strut is for better drift. The 7m will do you for 25+ but for 30+ I would be looking at an OR Storm 5m 5 Strut,
Most 6m kites are struggling in this wind. At 75 kg I am lit on 7m in 22kts+
I have rode the 10m vegas in 25kts and it felt awesome but for waves it and the Evo are only going to work on lit downwinders where the kite is powered all the time.
I rode the north kites into the wind on waves Dice & Neo (both rated better on waves than the Evo) and they ripped me off the face, very frustrating. Cabo was better but took so much input. The Rally & the Prodigy are the 2 best kites i have seen for into the wind wave riding & drifting.
