Ok guys I have just been leaked this update from Shannon and Peter in Brazil. They are in the final testing of the 08 gear and your local Best dealer should have demos within the next month. I will keep you informed.

Waroo 08:

Description:
The ’08 Waroo is the perfect kite for any rider and any discipline. It turns faster, jumps higher, loops tighter, hangs longer and now chases waves better than ever before.

The ’08 Waroo will outperform both your expectations and the competition. It’s not just the best value for the money out there; it’s simply the best Dacron / rip-stop SLE kite on the market.

Completely redesigned to make it even better than before, the ’08 Waroo will allow you to progress further than you ever imagined, no matter which style of riding you prefer. The product of three years of continuous development, every aspect of the ’08 Waroo has been reworked in response to customer feedback to deliver the perfect do-anything, ride-anywhere kite, ensuring that it will be the best selling SLE kite on the market for the third year running.

The 08 Waroo’s super easy handling and big surf ability has been enhanced by our new VP2 front bridle system. The VP2 short-throw front pulley system optimizes load distribution between the wingtips and the centre of the LE, giving a more stable kite that can be ridden deeper into the wind window. With increased depower, VP2 gives maximum wind range from reduced bar travel and increases turning response without any increase in back line pressure.
VP2 delivers huge improvements in handling, stability and turning speed for the 08 Waroo, enabling us to simplify the back line attachment set-up, giving you the most direct bar connection to your kite. For 08 we have added multiple rear line configurations giving you total control of turning speed, power delivery and depower. Now you can dial-in your new Waroo perfectly for wherever and however you ride.

Freestyle riders will love the easy big-air, rock steady unhooked handling, fast kite-looping and light bar pressure of the ’08 Waroo. Newly revised canopy profiling and shaping make the 08 Waroo the perfect choice for riders looking to maximise their riding progression. After just one ride we are sure you’ll agree, it’s the best Waroo we’ve ever made.

Big wave surfers will die for the 08 Waroo’s legendary surf-tough build quality and absolute reliability, there’s no better Dacron and Rip-stop kite to rely on when you are cutting back on the face of an overhead wave or charging down the line. Improved Canopy Framing Technology, an all new Load Flex LE seam and our laser cut Solid Airframe Construction guarantee that the Waroo is the toughest kite you’ve ever ridden. Nothing else comes close.

Beginners looking for an easy handling kite with light bar pressure, amazing stability, maximum depower and the easiest relaunch in its’ class need look no further than the ’08 Waroo. Our new VP2 bridle and wingtip shaping endows the ’08 Waroo with lightening fast relaunch and improves upon its legendary stability. Custom Tune options allow even a total novice to dial in their preferred handling style for maximum enjoyment in all riding conditions. If you want one kite to take you from first steps to advanced tricks you’ll find the ’08 Waroo the perfect choice, we guarantee it.
The ’08 Waroo is simply head and
shoulders above the competition, but don’t take our word for it, one ride will tell you all you need to know.
Waroo 08: Do anything, ride everywhere.

"every aspect of the ’08 Waroo has been reworked in response to customer feedback" the 06 & 07 Waroos must have been pretty bad, so much for resale!!

"For 08 we have added multiple rear line configurations giving you total control of turning speed, power delivery and depower. Now you can dial-in your new Waroo perfectly for wherever and however you ride."

WOW, talk about innovation !! Wonder where this idea comes from??

Mmmmmmmm take a look at the 07 GK Sonic, the KPO system already does this, Best is still one year behind Matt Pendle.

Don't these two phrases completely contradict each other?

"Completely redesigned to make it even better than before" and "The product of three years of continuous development" given that continuous indicates they modeled from last year so they couldn't be completely new developments?

Not taking aim at best specifically, just having a laugh at how all the kite companies make lots of funny statements.

Each to his own Jock, thats why there are so many kites on the market, but ARSA's going out on a limb saying "you’ll find the ’08 Waroo the perfect choice, we guarantee it" unless that's the new BEST replacement warranty?? How long do you get to decide? 30 days?? Can your dog still eat it too?? Ho hum

Nah, their just saying that the kite isnt just last years model with new graphics. It has been redesigned to include some of the features that the customers have commented on. Best listen to their customers and produce kites and gear as a direct reflection of customer feedback and what people like in a kite.

My advise is definately try any of the Waroo models and you will understand why the kites are as successful as they are. I havent flown the new gear as yet so I cant comment, but I know they have been working hard on it to make it perfect. Very few customers who buy a Best kite make any bridle mods or changes to the setup. They fly great straight from the bag.

We at ARSA have been out on the limb since day dot. Probably always will be. Thats the nature of the industry. Best replacement warranty is second to none, we do garantee all of our products we sell because we only sell products that we believe are the better ones on the market (BEST, NAISH, NORTH, SLINGSHOT). If it works well we have it. Thanks

Joe, I was referring to the initial post, I think it is written by a publicist not by a rider giving a kite review.

I have only been kiting for 4 months but it would appear to me a kite that is perfect for a beginner would not be perfect for an experienced rider.

Not really. Most of the SLE's on the market today are managable for a beginner and great for an experienced rider. This is what most brands promote in their marketing. I agree with it. Kite design these days helps a beginner rider advance a lot quicker than what we saw years ago. Back in the "C" kite only days' there was definately a difference between a beginner and advanced kite. Now days most people look at buying a kite that they will grow into and not out of so that they dont waist their time and money.

The Waroo is exactly that. The majority of Waroo's sold last year were to beginner to intermediate riders. Some of those riders on those same kites are now performing advanced moves. The kites can handle it.

Kites these days I believe are designed more for the type of rider or riding that you wish to persue, rather than beginner or advanced.

Good luck with your riding mate.

Joe, There is some truth in what you say, I bought a 12m Rebel and love it and I have found it easy to learn on and reading these forums there are plenty of experienced kiters that still prefer them.

Spot on Slack !

Joe, why are you so insecure that you need to as you say "defend yourself" against my comments? I was just pointing out that BEST are not at all innovative when it comes to multiple bridle/line configurations no matter how much hype retailers like yourself try to make out.

I recall a wise and credible kiter (who doesnt ride a sonic)telling me last December that the 08 Waroo would copy the 07 GK KPO system and it now appears he was dead right. Give credit where its due, it's not BEST's idea.

A best selling kite is akin to a best selling car, say a Ford falcon, best seller but not best car.

You would have more credibility by simply saying "I cut and pasted the latest advertising propaganda from BEST", have a read.

cheers

PS: I started with a yarga!! 2 actually.

Hmmm.... Gear Review hey????? I can't remember the last time that a money magazine reviewed a loan/lender like " they give you money, you give them more money back later..." Normally we like to here about all the other frilly things like customer service, warranties and all that type of guff. Joe, Thanks for the update on the Waroo 08. Anyone that visits the Best website would know that you did a cut and paste. Your credibility is not in question in my mind. You, your advice, dedication to the sport, the community & your family are exceptional, keep up the good work and supplying the updates on the "Best" Brand It is always nice to hear about some of the changes coming. As for you "defending", I don’t think insecurity is a problem for you, I think you did well to remain calm and objective as I know first hand that you do give credit to all brands and you even help kiters’ that don’t even buy their kites from ARSA when they Eat S... Sh....Sand. If it were me in your position I would have verbally unleashed at surfer. By the way,,, warranty or not I would like to thank you for the personal offer that you made to me when I bought my Waroo Pro 07, I did think it was exceptional service when you DID say "if you don’t like it, bring it back". I started with Naish.. I ate sand, got dragged down the beach, near drowned, hated kiting, I was about to grab my bat and ball and go home.... then I discovered the Best Waroo. I will always be weary of Naish now, even though I know it was not Naish's fault I didn't know how to kite surf, it appears I am not the only kite surfer that doesn't love his first kite brand.

I havent flown the kite as yet and as soon as they get here I will, then I will post my review and honest opinion on here. I just thought for the interested people out there, it would be good to hear what was install for 2008.

Check ya later.

Is the VP2 bridle like the xbow/switchblade/boxer? Sounds like the same pully system?

Actually judging from the pics on the site it looks like it's a direct rear bridle. Hopefully that might bring back the feel of the 06's

OK the new VP2 bridle system shown in the picture link below acts as a 2:1 ratio system without the pulley's on the bar. This allows the depower of the kite to be achieved with much less throw ditance on the bar. A complaint of the 06 and 07 bars was that the centre line was to long and some with short arms were not able to reach the trim adjustment strap. Peter has addressed this in the 2008 design.

This is completely different to the Xbow and Switchblade.

Also the rear bridle line is fixed and no pulley's are needed. A more direct feel will be achieved and yes, the kites will most probably feel more like thw 2006 waroo. The Nemesis HP has the same setup.
