Well i have ridden some kites in my time, but the package u get with the takoons is unbelievable!!!!!

First of all the quality is the best i have seen around , the kite is very heavily stitched where needed & the leading edge has a thick protected cover where needed and a one pump system.The bar & line is really well made.
Next the flying of the kite is incredably smooth and turns quick and has a massive wind range. I only need 2 kites 12m & 9m to cover me from 10knts to 35knts and i weigh 90kg.
The best thing i like about these kites, are the settings on the kite. You can change the bar pressure harder or to no bar pressure at all and also make the kite have less or more bottom end grunt, so u can tune the kite any way u like really easy.

So if any one is looking to buy a new kite try these kites out and you what be sorry.

Super range and wild hang time and a pleasure to fly. The bar is as near to perfect as I've seen. The "hand grenade" stopper system is very clever and very versatile. Even the bag rocks!
I've ridden the flexifoil just last weekend and they are quite different kites.

Got to test a 7m Nova 2 over the week and its one of the few kites you can handle in 30kn. We had a week of nuclear winds and the 7m Nova was the only kite Ive felt comfortable on in that sort of wind. Heaps of depower for the gusts, no getting dragged off the board every time the wind blasted through. Its not worth taking out in anything under 25kn as it goes better in higher winds. I have had the pleasure to use the 9mt and the 12mtr in winds of 12 to 35 knts. for a 75kg rider it is one of the most reliable and well constructed kites I have ridden. I have owned and used Airush, Slingshot, North and GK.

If I was a new to the sport as a rider I would have no hesitation in recommending the Nova 2 as a 1st kite.

It has good bar pressure, it has great relaunch and a reliable and strong make.

The lack of low end shouldn't be a problem for lighter riders or those who ride in predominantly strong wind conditions, but heavier riders kiting in lighter winds might find that they have to rig one size bigger or wait for the wind to pick up a bit.

The increased turning speed and exceptional light bar pressure are welcome changes to the Nova 2. Good gust handling and strong wind capabilities, along with the one pump system and an improved control bar makes the Nova 2 a well rounded kite.

That depends largely on the size, I investigated sizing a bit because I was looking at a second kite to go with my 12m and I've also heard that the 7 (which was the one reviewed in that article) is not known for its bottom end, but then again, when you are flying a 7, who is looking for bottom end. If you wanted more low down grunt on the 7, the 9 would give you more and it would still go to 35 knots so it seems the 7 was really designed as a high wind kite.

The 12m has plenty of grunt, as much or more than any other 12m I have tested.

Lack of feedback is normally only a problem until you get used to it.

I think range is dependent largely on what you consider your comfortable range and how overpowered you are prepared to ride. Probably better to try it yourself and get an idea because I'd hate you to take my word as gospel, but its definitely got some of the best top end on the market.

For me at 75kgs, I can get 10-25 without feeling uncomfortable at all. 28-30 is very rideable, but to be honest I'm a chicken **** so I am too scared to boost at that stage in case I don't come down, whilst other riders tell me thats the point of the wind range they start to love jumping.
