Hey guys read a few reviews in these but most making comments about the potential dangers of one foot coming out.

So a season has passed, who is actually using them and what is the overall verdict. That is can I have feedback from those using them please.

Cheers

I sold a pair of these to a guy when they came out. I haven't used them but I had a good look at them and they looked the goods. The bloke that bought them seemed very happy with them. Unless you had them done up really tight your feet should still come out after a heavy wipeout. I wouldn't bother with them unless you are into wake style riding and want a little more freedom than boots offer.

What is this 'more freedom than boots' thing?
There's heaps of different types of boots out now that offer a variety of stiffness levels in ankle movement. Liquid Force alone has five different options of kite specific boots with various open/closed toe, lace/velcro straps and ankle flex options.

Not only that, but there are so many options around for great straps that it seems a little half baked to... eh, half bake some strappy-boots like the Joint's appear to be. Cabrinha were pushing the Sync's as backless boots originally which IMO was a silly idea. That said it did instigate a lot of discussion and got lots of people to try them out. I was riding Sync's for a year and loved their clamping top & sides of the foot style.

A few companies over the years have included heel straps with their pads/straps, but everyone thought they were a bit dorky. Why now if they make them look like oversized Birkenstock's is it ok?

Try some boots. You'll probably like them.
