Just fitted a Slingshot 5th line to my 20" bar.

The kit came complete with all the gear for a Fuel of Diesel of any size and the instruction book was very good with pictures of each step. After the initial what do I do now phase and a bit of help it came together great .It even looks as if it belonds and not just a tack on item and very well made and of a high quality.

The only problem was I did not get to tune, or test the system due to lack of wind but when I get a chance I will get back to you

Has any one tested the system yet?? and what have you found??

used it once on a 17.5 machine. it was only a pre production kite and bar so not sure if its identical to the finished product. but when u adjust the 5th line in on the chicken loop it flattened the kite and and trucked up wind. so i got the general feel for it and it seemed to work great. also helps to relaunch. and is suppose to make the ss's fly quicker and also improve there upwind ability. and on the machine i think they come standard. pretty keen to try them on my fuels now.

Actually its called SS Oneline, not 5th. Just to be difficult.
I've now used it on all my kites. The most notable thing is that in gusty conditions it really irons out the suddens jolts you get from the kite. This is because the leading edge is now more stable, and the gust causes the less stabilised trailing edge to flare out, dumping power.
I have been using mine set with moderate tension, and to be honest I can't tell so far if I am going further up wind with a better shaped leading edge. Clearly there is the advantage when you want to drop your kite unassisted, and likewise bailing out in extreme conditions will be safer. Because of where the center line comes through the bar it is fairly easy to get to so that you can tweek the tension. The other good news is that the "pump attachment" on the 05 fuels seems to be holding just fine.

On the down side, the line does not always pay out smoothly the relax tension on the leading edge. Sand getting into the works will be a big issue. Also from looking at the line thickness, I don't expect it to live for ever.

I have used it on 3 fuels, and also on a Gaastra and it was just as good. I need more time on the water with it, but so far I am sure it's safer, just haven't worked out if it actually improves my performance.
