I might change to a wichard, I've still got one from my kite buggy harness, just to allow for hot swapping demo kites, with people who cannot handle just the chicken loop and reattaching to the ring while the kite is flying (it is a bit awkward fumbling around near my groin).
I would never use the wichard as a safety though and would just use the stock release string as it will not get in the way or accidentally release.
My harness is showing signs of wear, one of the webbing loops that holds the carbon bar let go, so I just cut off the frayed bits melted a hole either side of the bar and then tied it on and glued the knots, works fine. I'm not happy as a customer that this webbing has failed though and still think the harness design at the front needs some refinement and R&D. Comfort wise, still
super happy with it. Travelling with it recently, I just put it in the case in the same position as the photo and filled the inside with my westsuit and hot top. It is a slight pain that it does not lay flat for travelling, but the workarounds are doable. Still think they are massively overpriced, and see very little difference in the performance of the 3 price points and would recommend everyone just buy the hexcore "entry" level with whichever spreader bar suits/riding style. The justifications for the higher prices of the other 2 models don't cut it in real life, the weight difference between the carbon elite and the hexcore is about 300grams. The slight increase in stiffness of the carbon does not translate to more comfort or performance in my experience.
Still same rope since new. I'd estimate 150-200hrs of use over this last 8 months.
