I'm looking at two kites. The Rev 13m or Havoc 12m. Any one rode both these kites. I have tested a rev and really liked it but can test the havoc... I'm looking for a quick kite that doesn't invert, relaunches easy and had good de-power. Also quit important is the unhooked feel, I really liked the rev in this department and wondering what people thought of the havoc

I'm 68kg been riding 04 fuels for the last year and a bit, have a 132 underground and kite in melbourne with winds at around 15- 25.

Hi Matt

I have rode both kites. I found the 13 Rev turns a little slower than the 12M Havoc
and the Rev has more bar pressure. I cant comment about relaunch on the Rev but the relaunch on the Havoc is great. I can say once I got on the Havoc I have not looked back.

Touchwood I have not had a Havoc inverted to date. No problem with unhooking either even with no depower, kite just doesnt stall. The 10m is very responsive and relaunches easy as. Best to see your local dealer borrow both kites and test them side by side.

Hi MattyB

I Tried the New Havoc and it felt OK and seems like the best kite LF has done to date. (except for the M80)

But the Rev is Outstanding in all the areas you mentiond.

Also the Build the Quliaty of the REV is unmatched by any kite on the Market.

You also will get a better and easyer trade in on the Rev when you want to upgrade next season, but more importantly it will sea you through the hardest of sesions that you can and will put it through!

The Rev just feels right on in all area's from surf,Wake or just crusing.

But for 15-25knts and if you want to throw down some un-hooked tricks I would think the 11m Rev especially if you are 68Kg

Hope this helps

Cheers

Luke

Test the 12m Havoc and make up your own mind. You've tested the Rev so the last thing you want is to buy a kite and suddenly find out you regret your decision or are sitting afterwards thinking "what if" or "why didn't I". I know people who ride both and swear by them so it could be down to something as simple as personal feel. There are plenty of 08 12m havocs in Vic so it shouldn't be hard to find someone with one. If you can't find a demo, send me a PM and I'll give you contact details of someone who has one in Melbourne.

Both Sick kites but i would highly consider the 11m Rev, 13 is a whole different kite and the 11 is s fast i fly it on the bar that goes with the 7. Probably cant go wrond with either but i would try and 11 rev and the 12 havoc side by side if u can then make up your mind

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

I've gone the havoc basically because there was one for $1250. I think that going to either of these kites from 04 fuels will put a smile on my dial.

Will see how it goes. still on the search for a 9m for those funky days but will have to wait till my funds build back up.

Appreciate everyones input, it really helped.

Let us know your thoughts after flying the Havoc and compare against the Rev
seeing as you then will have flown both

Just had a real go on my new Havoc 12m in winds that went from about 10 - 25kn. This kite is a great big pulling machine, I absolutely love it. I didn't understand what people meant by a kite feeling smooth but I do now. It looks great, hammers up wind and has huge de-power, though I did dump the kite when it started peaking over 25kn. The construction is obviously top notch and is up there with the rev.

I can't comment too much in comparing it to the rev though cos I mostly used the rev in light winds. What I do like more about the rev is their smaller bridals, the super safe connection point for the safety that flags the kite out and its thick lines.

With all that been said I don't even know were is the best connection point for the havoc's safety. (if anyone can tell me I would appreciate it)

So what can I say from riding both kites? Well I love the bar and bridal of the rev but there was something about the havoc, the feel of its smooth consistent power that I just love. The havoc was just what I was looking for in a kite, I must say I have no regrets buying it over the rev, I absolutely love it, but again state I am no expert and did not get the best conditions when testing the rev.

Hi Matt

Very wise choice you chose the Havoc. You wont regret it.

Safety needs to go to the "'o' s-hit" handle which is on one side of the back lines. Make sure you hook it in the bottom ring that is linked to the back line, not both rings, not the black handle but the bottom metal ring.

As for back lines setting at the kite end, connect furthest knot in for max power, i.e. in marginal conditions, further out in high winds. I seldom attach it to the last knot though - too much slack on back line making it hard to turn kite. I find the 3rd knot is my most used setting. Happy kiting!
