Let me start off by saying this isn't a review with all the funny jokes or super info. Just a real-world hands on account of my first time on one of these kites.

Went to Mullaloo today and waited for the front to hit. Only had the 10 supermodel to try. The kites are simple as. Simple bar, simple connections (only one knot of the steer pigtail, doesn't even have a lock on pump connection. Just push it in, pump to 10psi and pull it out. Don't know how they do it but it works. No mucking around.

Coming off Core XR6's I thought it might be sketchy sending a 10 in 30knts+ but no probs, same flying characteristics as a Rebel or XR6. You don't need to over think it just send it as per normal. These kites are powerful and they jump big. Thing that really stood out for me was speed. They're like a XR in the power department but fast as a Dice. Always a bit apprehensive looping a kite in strong wind day one but these are fast and smooth and give you the confidence to try it. Had a few stacks as you would expect from a amateur.

Going to wait till I can try the new V2 model before buying but at this stage I think my XR's are goneski.

Surprised there's not more talk about them.

I've put my 8xr up for sale. Never had a issue with core except the bindings on their boards which I think are garbage.

I bought a supermodel 1 9m not long back just before the v2 launch. I can't get much height out of mine.and haven't been that impressed so far. I don't get to go out much though and haven't had decent wind to try it some more yet. will give it a couple more tries but if I can't get some height out of it then I'll be selling mine. Only had 4 sessions on it so far. Also have a core xr6 9m couple years old no issues with that one at all and plenty of height from that ohe
Also had a pivot 9m before that and the pivot seems way more powerful than o am getting from the SM maybe I just got an odd one.

This time of year is no good for comparisons. Made that mistake many times over the years.

Sounds like you don't know what your doing with it, I rode the v1 7mtr back to back with a sls evo 10 mtr at my local, it out jumped the evo in winds i certainly wouldn't of thought, drive and water speed were quicker' it certainly felt different and needed a bit of time compared to my ozones' but it left me wishing I had a 9 to play on that day
I took a good look at it construction wise and would put it alongside most premium brands
The bar n lines would be one of the best ive seen or used, spend more time on it and im sure youll

Can anyone provide any feedback or a review on the Reedin SuperWave kite surf board? Are they worth a look? Or is it all hype from a pro trying to start a business.
I have been riding a 2015 5'8 Slingshot Celeritas (strapless) since new and it works well, the only complaint I have is the deck grip. It was rubbish from day 1. I noticed the volume drops slightly (26 to 24L) on the 5'8 SuperWave.
I can't seem to find a single review anywhere. I don't really want to be the guinea pig! Any info appreciated.

i found you really need to bare off down wind and really load it up to go big.

I'm considering a new s27 Pivot 8m (already have s26 10m) - which come out in a couple of months but I've read that the Supermodels are basically Pivots with more focus on big air. Well if so, then that sounds pretty damn good to me.

Though I don't think anyone in NSW sells Reedin kites.

Took the 8 Super model out for a spin in 20-28 knt mushy westerly yesterday.

First impressions.

Bag: probably one of the best bags I've had in a long time. Much bigger than most on the market and well thought out. Zip on the front for keys water etc. Easy to pack up if it's cranking. Sturdy pump holders, bag on one side for the bar, usual stuff just heavy canvas.

For me the canopy feels stiffer than all my previous new kites. I'm assuming all manufacturers are going that way now to maintain shape in strong winds Says on the bag they've stitched it with a CNC machine. Again I'm assuming they're all doing it that way now. Makes sense and reduces cost with increase accuracy.

Bridles and pig tails are beefed right up. I haven't sussed out if there's any options to vary bar pressure turning speed etc.

The bridle for the fronts is probably the thickest I've seen on a kite. I reckon the saving in weight by putting super thin bridles and pig tails on isn't worth the risk of snapping a line. The over all kite it sends a message these are build for really powered up riding. I'm going to feel much safer in high 30's on these kites.

Bar is really nice. Has a unusual shape and almost feels elliptic. As fingers are only just hanging over the bar it makes sense to shape it like that. If you put your fingers in riding position they look elliptical. Swivel is smooth as silk and also is twice the size of some other offerings on the market. Chicken loop and donkey dick and really strong. Heaviest of any kite I've had since 2004. They haven't scrimped on quality. This stuff is bullet proof. Super easy to run suicide and comes with a short bungy.

Didn't get a pump, however they provide an attachment for the propriety fitting that goes into the kite. It's a push fitting. No rotation or chance of damaging the value. To deflate push the rubber flap in. That simple.

Those of you who know me, know I'm pretty vocal when I think a product is crap or dangerous. At this point in time I'm giving it a 10 for build quality and function. Have to see if it can hold up to that rating.

I only had 1hr to test it and the wind was up and down like a yoyo. Pinging jumps and finding it's dropped of in the air, that sort of stuff. Bar pressure is moderate at 28 touching 30. Just the right amount to know where the kite is and avoid the tennis elbow. It's fast with good boost, Loops sweet and doesn't do anything funky in the sky.

Only 1 day so far on the 8. Need some strong wind to really test it out.

Good feeling when i use. Inflation is not easy for my girlfriend. I hope there is a hands-free e-pump for my kite trip

What pump you usually use and any portable electric pump recommend?

I use a core pump (large one) or the doutone large. also have some old North pumps that will do the job. It doesn't matter what you use as Reedin gives you an adapter to fit all the kite pumps. Don't look at the gauge and never have. Pump all the kites I've owned up hard and never blown a bladder.

I'm not 100% sure, but I reckon someone on the forums would know, you might be able to get a pump from a camping store at half the price or less. At the end of the day they're way over priced IMHO

I know there is an electric pump but do you want to spend the big coin and not get the short warm-up? If you're not there to pump your girlfriends kite I'm sure someone will for her.

I've noticed a few supermodels turning up at the local, So what's ur thoughts owners?
I am loving these kites.

I took a test ride on the new HTF supermodel. Nice kite but not enough of an upgrade from my Evo SLS to trade in.

As mentioned above, boosting big needs a bit more timing and technique than a more sheet and go kite like the Evo. Hangtime and float is excellent. Landings were easy and soft. Bar pressure was light and weighted up gently as the wind picked up. Front/backline tension was exceptional. I've never ridden a more balanced front to backline kite ever.

Loops were quick and pleasant. If I was nit-picking, I'd say there's a slightly numb feeling to them in comparison to my Evo - but this may just be a familiarity thing.

Bar steering was nice. There's kind of a inch or so of bar movement where not much happens, and then when you get past it, the kite goes quickly. I like this. It meant that the small sizes (I tried a 10m and an 8m) weren't twitchy and I could feel comfortable pulling grabs and one footers out the box.

Depower is ridiculous. To the point I don't understand why they bothered with a trim strap on the bar. I tend to ride my Evo with a couple of inches of trim between the QR and the bar (partly because I have a little stretch in the lines so it stalls if I pin the bar). Doing the same thing with the supermodel feels like riding on 3/4 throttle. You really need to get that bar pinned to the QR to get the full power. When the wind picks up you don't need to sheet out much either to be comfortable. Coming from a higher bar pressure kite, this really feels comfortable with a lot of power in it. I'd feel very comfortable indeed riding this lit and it felt a better kite for really powered riding than my Evo. (On the other hand I could just size down so ..... is it just a smaller kite?)

Nice kites. Build felt very good. I'd be happy owning them but they aren't enough of an upgrade for me yet until the 24 month duotone obsolescence clock ticks over and my Evos disintegrate. I gather the difference between the V3 and the HTF is mainly that the bar pressure on the V3 is a bit higher and the HTF loops a bit more linearly.
