why does it need 3 chicken loop lines??? what can you do with 3 that you cant do with 1???
and in the photo with the sun behind it whats up with the holes in the kite?? is that to try and stop it from stalling and falling backwards???

The attachment for the kite leash is in the middle of the chicken loop, so that means two lines are required. So one is a flagging line but not sure why there is two others instead of one. Maybe, totaly guesing here, it is so that the trim straps are always in line with the bar??... Actualy looking at the picture, there is a much simplier reason. The flagging line goes through the middle of the chicken loop and release mechanism, and having two lines connecting to the chickenloop above the release means that you don't have to worry about the flagging line getting twisted around the line that connects to the chickenloop.
I'm impressed thats a very clean and tidy bar!

Go on the Core website and see the video of the Core Riot Bar.

The double de-power lines ("chicken loop lines") allow the rider to untwist the 3 lines after a rotation (-by rider or kite-) simply by pulling the bar down to the quick release assembly.

It goes something like this, for example:

1. Perform a back loop (or any other line-twisting move).
2. Spin bar in order to untwist flying lines. (This puts a twist in the double de-power lines below the bar.
3. Pull down bar to QR/chicken loop in order to untwist de-power lines below bar.

The safety line (mini- or full 5th line) passes through the steel tube, which can swivel inside the red QR assembly. The QR pin is easy and quick to reset once you get familiar with it.

The tension through the double de-power lines makes the bar feel a little stiff when cranking it for a sudden turn of the kite (...but I will get over it ).

A really nice, tidy piece of gear.

As mentioned, Core has the same system.

Bar looks great but I can't find any mention of it on the flysurfer website. Could someone please paste a link to it. Anyone have any idea of availability and price of the bar to Sydney ?

bar looks like it realy improved upon.. the current bars kinda suck and feel cheap to the price you pay for the kites.

looks in the photo that the kite changes its arc from a c shape to a more flat shape, judging by the kiteloop and normal flying photo's , think was something about that on kookforum.

FS has been working on the new Infinity Bar for more than one year to be absolutely satisfied with the resolution. So here we are and have a new bar, that doesn't have any twisted lines anymore. As already been mentioned, one line is the safety, the other two are due to the untwisting system.
I take this from the newsletter which has come concerning the new bar and Psycho IV:

INFINITY BAR & PSYCHO4

Together with the PSYCHO4, FLYSURFER presents their innovative INFINITY-Bar, the INFINITY-Bar sets new standards in safety and control, and you will be shocked by its performance:

• INFINITY-Bar system. Rotated safety leashes or frontlines finally belong to the past with the new INFINITY-Bar system. Endless rotations or kite loops in 1 direction are possible. Simply pull in the bar and all lines untwist easily to their original position.
• New ergonomically shaped Soft-Grip-Winders ensure grip for superb hold during unhooked kite loops and handle passes. The inside of the winders is equipped with soft bar grip which gives the rider optimum comfort.
• V-Shape Bar eyelet made of high-grade premium steel. Even with a steered in bar (45 degree angle) the depower function is still friction- and effortless. The steel eyelet construction ensures longevity and a minimum of wear.
• Reduced Bar-Diameter. Smaller bar diameter ensures strain less grabbing and holding of the bar for more prolonged kite sessions.
• EVA-Floaters on the bar-ends protect the hands during handle passes and help to keep the bar clearly afloat on the water surface after crashes.
• 3x-times Adjustable Bar Width. The INFINITY-Bar will be available in 50 and 60cm. Each size can be individually adjusted to create 2 further sizes to reduce the bar width by another 5 or 10cm.
50cm INFINITY-BAR: optional/additional bar widths: 45cm and 40cm.
60cm INFINITY-BAR: optional/additional bar widths: 55cm and 50cm.
• Higher Breaking Strength. The breaking strength of the new INFINITY-Bar has been increased significantly. Extensive breaking and durability test have been made with temperatures up to -40 degrees Celsius.
• Thanks to a special Guidance Block the 5th line runs smooth and free, without the need of an annoying stopper. Another industry first.
• For our new Depower loop, we decided for the best system which is currently available on the market. FLYSURFER has started a successful cooperation with Hiss-Tech and will use their beloved, tested and proven Depower loop, which now comes standard on all PSYCHO4s with INFINITY-Bar.

I hope that helps a bit..

Hey fellows the new Psycho's are due into OZ approx mid Aug . If you are keen to have the first in OZ give me a call Jeff Roberts , Ian Young or Kite Power . The kite has better depower allowing it to turn quicker and yet give better lift .The new bar system is an extra / does not come with the standard set up but is proven to be excellant . It will be interesting to see how it compares with the new Pulse 2 which has already proven to be an excellant kite .

hey guys..
I will be able to have the new Psycho IV range in my hands in two weeks.
I will give you a review on the kites as objective as I can be.

I reckon it doesn't make sence to take the older bar, as the new Infinity Bar is supposed to be killer!!

As I have spoken to Armin who is the main developer at FS, The Man and the biggist critic, I can tell you that he is convinced that the kite rocks the **** out of it and can compare with inflatibles if not even better. I am really curious on the kite and will let you know.
As already been mentioned. An early pre-order ensures you to be one of the first having that awesome toy!

The Chickenloop is designed by Core/His

http://www.core-kites.com/content/view/14/55/lang,de/

its by far one of the best bars on the market. I use it with my Riot 15 and love it because you can do as many rotations as you want and just need to pull in the bar to get the centre lines untwisted.... really nice and the QR works smooth but have not tested it under High load. It can be put together very easy once it has been opened.

Cheers

hey guys..
There have been a couple of reviews released. Most of them are in German but I found a review about the P4 15.0 on Foilzone.

http://www.foilzone.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10239

The sun was out again, and the wind was blowing between 11 and 15 (Have a look a the graph, I was out between 15:00 and 16:30) knots with big gusts and annoying lulls. I weight 73 kgs without the wetsuit and I was on my RIP 34 07.

Took the kite and went out. First of all its really interesting how the kite`s shape changes when you depower it. And not only does it look fascinating it feels like it too.

Turning speed when you depower the kite improves significally!! This has several advantages compared to older FS-modells.

First of all in the Lulls: We all know how to dive a kite and then when you want to move it back up in the windwindow to depower it in order not to stall the kite. Normally it takes ages to move the kite back up. Not with the P4. It just moves radically up in the windwindow when you depower it, even in lully winds (thx to Fred for the new word Wink).

Second of all this feature makes kite loops easy as hell. Before today I was not able to land my kiteloops properly. Usually I came down pretty hard and had no chance to land the kiteloop. With the P4 its totally different. Because of its turning speed when depowered you can really influence how much pull the kite should build and not suffering any turningspeed, on top. If you wanna go big and hard, just power up the kite and do a wide loop. For pussyloops just depower the kite, jump and pull while still depowered.

This feature helps you to improve your riding really quickly and gives you confidence to try out new stuff.

Turning speed vice in general this kite is a class of its own. Im probably exaggerating but I reckon it turns as fast as my pulse1 10 or even a little bit faster and it turns definitely as fast as a 13 instinct edge2. I can also imagine that this feature of turning speed while depowered is what every waverider want.

Iv also tried a few raileys and I can tell you this kite has huge pop.!!! Hangtime was also great, not as floating as a speed2 15 but it definitely kicks ass! For a hangtime session the wind was too light. For my 73 kilos you probably want 18-20 knots for boosting high.

I havent had a chance to try a relaunch as I was only out for an hour and was very excited about its looping abilities and kept on trying out new sick stuff with this baby. Very Happy

I also havent had a chance to try out the safety. But as said before the bar is sick!! With the new three lines dont worry about any tangles. After kiteloops and rotations the lines just untwist itself, and seriously it works really really well!!!!!! Very Happy

What can I say... Smiles all round I love this kite. And after trying the 15, I dont wanna know how fast my 10 P4 is gonna be.

To sum up, this is the first big kite I feel comfortable with doing kiteloops and new school tricks while still having great hangtime and lift. With the new depower feature FS has once more proven how innovative they are. I dont wanne ever ride any other kite!!! Seriously

Check out more reviews and collect them here if you want to.
cheers
