Slightly overdue and highly anticipated release of the 2013 3rd revision of the Zephyr. This video was shot in New Cal by Torrin Bright who also did the edit, very nice work, and of course Andy's riding is inspiring and great to watch.
First batches will begin arriving to Ozone dealers in the next 5-10 working days.

edge shape in it for sure, thinner struts and leading edge aswell, what i was looking for was a multi bar pressure setting on the tips but theyve gone for a mini bridle , if its got a bit of edge in its making that will be great for its upwind ability which was a bit lacking in the old zeph especially in its upper wind range, the old zeph could get a bit heavy on the arms after a big session so interested how that mini bridle goes,

Vid is visible and playable on my puter, how about everyone else??

Cauncy - its a new design, Robbie and Matt definitely listened to as much feedback as possible about the 2 previous incarnations, I'm very confident this one is as greatly improved as any of the other Ozone models released this year.

Yeh must have been a glitch in the network at work all good now Steve.

Very interesting. Saw a canopy profile comparison to the edge on the kiteforum. Some very close similarities, be interesting to see how this translates on the water.

Can't wait for some reviews.

Might be the precursor to differentiating the edge to a definitive race and one for free ride?

Just a prediction...

im thinking this lets them construct a thinner leading edge especially at the tips, and the little bridle gives them the stability so the wing wont fold, which happens slightly on my edges when you go hard, would of liked a multi setting for the bar pressure, the zeph imo ist a true lightwind kite like the flysurfer but around 14 knts its such good fun and is a great kite to proggress you tricks with, and for me still stays very safe and predictable up to the low 20s, its a great winter kite for here, westerlies around 15 knts zinging along the coast bring on winter.

kite looks fresh and fun and the riding and Torrins filming/ edit are superb.

Andy's combo for light wind (Zephyr and Xenon Rayo) seem to work really well in this video.
Does anybody know how much the new Zephyr weighs?
I know that the Rayo weighs 2420 grams.

had a good look but couldnt find any info, i did overlay it with the edge 17 id say itd be very close to that maybe just a touch lighter as the struts are thinner, if ever the was a day for the zephyr today was it, you ride they watch you laugh they cry, looking at water conditions and depower rope id have a guess it was 15knts ish on the footage ,

Dealers, can you please let me know what is the net weight of the kite only? There is no indication as to the weight which is a spec non available so far...

a detailed description of it being a dud will help people decide if its worth chucking over $2000 dollars at, if you think your gonna be doing powered moves in 9 knts think again unless your a lightweight, what made it a dud in your oppinion terry

Thought a bit more about the new zephyr and sitting on the optimistic side of the fence I feel the old zephyr combined with some edge efficiency might indeed produce a very good light wind kite for freeride. Be interesting to see reviews, and unlike terry will wait to voice my opinion after these reviews and after I have flown it.

Just put an edge 17m on the scales, its 4.2kg. So I would be pretty confident of the Zephyr being within 100g of that.

Nope, same sail and LE materials, there may be slightly less Dacron in some areas which is why i would put the Zephyr within 100g.

It's a race kite because of the design, not the weight :)

In a light wind scenario would the weight of the kiter be more relevant than the weight of the kite ?

Weighed my 2012 Zephyr @ 4.5kg, cant guarantee scales accuracy but pretty close.

82kg, Underground 142x41, Zephyr and powering upwind easy,
yesterday 4/2/13 b/n 1200-1400 hrs, sub 10 knots, refer BOM stats at: www.bom.gov.au/products/IDV60801/IDV60801.94846.shtml
