Wow, the wind must have known we just received an R1. Jordan arrived at shop around 2pm, the bay was glass. Him being the eternal optimist, was determined that a localised NE would arrive in an hour.
3pm and sure enough we can see the NE coming on the water, get down to the beach (dolls point), came through at 10knots initially. Launched the R1 and inflated within 30sec, a lot quicker than I remember with the Chrono so the extra vents definitely help and the wing tips don't fold in as easily.
Got dragged around while waiting for Jordan, kite felt great. Fast, stable and very powerful through the window. Gave him the kite and once he got out deep enough, one loop and he was up foiling on his Lister. I thought the wind was around 6-8 by then but he could swear it was less, I'll trust him as he goes out in those conditions a lot more than I. Looking at Kurnell, it was definitely down to 6-7 while he was out, had to come in once it hit 4 knots around 4pm but the kite still stayed in the air easily.
I'll let him put up a proper review. All I can say is I'm even more impressed with this than when I first flew the Chrono.
