But of course it's all about the new v9 Edge: I have a 10 metre and this is i.m.o. indeed a stunning kite, a true high adrenaline machine with for me surprisingly quick steering!

I'm not able to comment on kites delivered in your country. In Australia and the rest of the world though Ozone has not included the inner back for several years since approx 2011 from memory. A version of the inner bag can still be purchased as an accessory, as a compression bag.
The zipper has been moved to the side of the gusset and the annoying inside sleeves have been deleted, makes getting your kite back into your bag so much easier. The bar can just go inside the bag or as I do I leave it out as its normally wet. Otherwise the bag is made from the same quality materials as the current model Reo, Enduro, etc.
Glad you like the kite though, it really is a very different kite to fly hey!

Thanks for your feedback. Here's a picture of the 2016 Ozone kitebag, with the "integrated inner bag." This really facilitates storing the kite in the bag. But hey, better to cut costs on the bag than on the kite!

yet another ingenious approach from ozone , dont supply inner bag ,charge customer extra for optional inner bag .That inner bag that ozone supplied from 2008 to 2011 was awesome .It protected the kite unbelievably when packed in the inner bag.I still use the inner bag from 2008.It WILL make a difference how long your kites last !

What is it with you guys and these bloody bag conversations? Who cares a rats ass about the damn bags they come in. Does the kite fly awesome?...end of story.

Nah I think we should now discuss the colour of the bag and why it does not come in other colours. And whether the operation of the zip is easy on ones hands. And whether it can be used for grocery shopping too. And where the damn strap ended up which came with the kite. And whether Ozone supplies a new one under warranty. And whether Ozone bags are good for filling them up with sand so that one can tether launch that way. And how many kg of sand will fit into an 11m kite back bag. And whether the straps are adjustable enough to suit ones fat chest...
I agree this forum gets a bit ridiculous in winter...

Don't use a bag, kite ,roll up kite, next day roll out kite, blow up go kite

I have no video, so some will say it never happened, but I scored Alva Beach 1 hr south of Townsville to myself last week. No waves like that video just butter flat water protected by a 4+klm long sand bar. Typical SE trade winds blow across the bar 45 degrees from right to left, so you can hug the eastern shore of the bar and get max speed and BOOST. The water is so smooth its like glass in close to the sand bar. Wind was approx 18-20 knots and I was on the 10M Edge V9 and an Axis Vanguard 1.35 x 41.5, perfect combo. My bigger jumps were in the 15M+ range for sure with very long glides and downloop landings.
Fly to Townsville or Mackay, rent a car and stay at the Tourist park or in Ayr, needs to be on everyone's bucket list!! There's even small windchop waves where the bar ends, we have kited as far up the inside as possible and then downwindered by walking across the dune.
Great fishing inside the lagoons, have seen croc slide marks up in the far reaches of the lagoons, but not actually seen any.

Okay, okay, apologies for moaning about the new kite bag! (I wouldn't have brought it up if the rep. from Ozone kites Aus hadn't suggested that the bag had improved ........)

Enough about the damn bag and back to the real deal: I have used my 10 metre V9 Edge about 8 times now in light (and once medium-) winds and am very surprised with the jumps I get out of it in light winds. (I am not an expert jumper) The upwind drive, speed, lift and hangtime are now combined with some serious tight turning (at least on the 10) which for me is the perfect combination. I have attached a photo of a nice little light wind jump in just 15 knots, I hope this compensates for the moaning about the bloody kite bag a bit :-)

Sounds like this kite ticks the boxes by going back to a more freeride design vs racing. I am seriously contemplating buying this kite (through the Kitepower team). Looking to replace my 2013 13m Edge. Just a couple of questions:

1. There are some comments around the 11m being the sweet spot and having a good low end. I am 95kg and find my old 13m to be a bit clunky sometimes when looping etc. Would an 11m kite be ok in 18 knots + (in hot Sydney summer winds)? For perspective, the 13m was fun in 18-28 knots (could stay upwind in 15-18 knots, but it was boring).

2. How would this kite (with extended lines) perform in light winds (10 knots +) for foiling?

Appreciate some insight here since this kite is bloody expensive and I want to make sure it is the right one.

The guys at Kitepower have an 11M demo, can you get in to test it? If not I'd be pretty confident that you would like the 13 a lot more than the previous version for looping.

Sorry about the bag mate, it was my idea to take out the internal gussets, which were really only there to create a bar pocket. When we were at the dealer meet last year in Vietnam, there was lots of discussion around the bag and how the gussets were a PITA when trying to get a folded kite back into the bag at the beach in wind. Glad you like the kite though!!!
The Edge V9 bags in future will have a bar pocket on the outside, like the new Enduro V2 I just received.

Didnt even look that windy in that clip if you take note of the water, really looking forward to a demo of the new edge at the Midwest Windfest,

Picked up a 9m demo from WestOz kite to test at Point Walter. Wind was very much on/off. Would say between 15 and 20 knots.

Pros: Can confirm that the kite is rock solid in the air. Even at this wind it is easy to get good height and hangtime. When the wind hits around 20kn, this kite becomes magic for oldschool stuff and landings are super soft which gives you a lot of confidence to push your riding to new levels. Bar pressure is spot on to know what the kite is doing at all times. Upwind angle is insane and the kite has a great low end.

Cons: Of course comes a bit with such a high AR design but the kite is a bit slow turning and has slow forward speed. Downloops coming out of a jump is ok but not really a kite I would like for powered loops. Surprisingly it actually pivots somewhat around the wingtip but it does not loop in a smooth circle like a C or hybrid and is rather slow to climb back up to catch you. Waveriding would be no good with this kite but is to be expected. Even basic unhooking is no good with this kite.

Conclusion: Really, really great for old school/airstyle but could never be me only kite. I have been riding for 14 years. These days I have a diverse riding style. On a twintip I like oldschool stuff combined with freestyle and some basic unhooked tricks. I get an equal stoke from strapless waveriding though. Really need an allrounder to cover this and currently use the OR Prodigy for this. The prodigy is really a good allrounder but the edge of course outperforms in the airstyle stuff. Tempting to add one 9 to the quiver though as the kite does bring a huge smile on your face.

Yep, 11m in pics, my new 9m edge is pretty sweet at 25knts and turns a lot faster, waiting for 30knts and my 7 edge ??

I do like my 8m reo in waves, super fast turning but she drops me like a stone if boosting

My god! Anyone thinking of upgrading to v9,do it! What an improvement. Well done ozone, it really is a step up.

Awesome session on the my 11 today, steady 20knts but noticed some damage to the le, very sad, my fault from self launching, mustve been something in the sand or grass last couple of launches, not a qc issue, couple of patches to see through this summer, maybe upgrade to a v9 next year.

15m Edge V9 was a standout in marginal winds at our local yesterday. Faster as easily as powerful as the 17's
