Thanks Leigh for clearing up that info , over the last 3 years we have built 57 lightwind twintips. The version Leigh used was a 1,8 kilo 150x44 , this is an extremely lightweight performance twintip , every gram saved in the weight allows for a better low wind performance.
The starting wind for this kiteboard is around 7 to 8 knots topping off at 14 to 15 knots, depending on the skill of the rider. Leigh used the kiteboard in conditions well over the limit for this size and type of twintip.

The other 56 lightwind twintips produced are working perfectly well and we will not change the build system due to the loss of one twintip. The lightwind is perfectly strong and capable being used in the correct conditions.

We are however delighted that Leigh is enjoying his 144 CCS-wave replacement. This size and build is better suited to 25 knots and 2m waves.

As of yet we have not lost one wave-twintip in an on the water incident , over the last 6 months the wave-twintip has now reached 60% of our world wide sales showing how well this type of twintip actually suits the majority of kitesurfers.

Nomad is the Ferrari of kiteboards. Are they expensive? Yes they are! Will an average up punter buy one? No they won't.

But they have a market at the top end.

Nomads are not $3k. Mine cost about $1800 including freight with the lighter handle and board bag. This is not the top construction (PRO) but it is significantly lighter then my previous twin tip. I am just an intermediate kiter. I went for a lesson this year to get my overall kiting improved in Perth. The instructor was a little disdainful of my Nomad. What are the benefits and why the funny shape etc? I was getting tips on better edging and riding switch. He decided to try my board and was very surprised. It pointed higher and went faster than the tts he was used to. In my case I have had a hip replaced and without cartilage I feel the bumps. Riding a surfboard is like someone hitting my hip with a hammer. This board is very smooth and like a magic carpet in comparison.

1950 euro for fullcarbon is $3139.58.

More than 3k.
And that does NOT INCLUDE POSTAGE of approx $400

Ide say the makos looking real good for $1k.

Ozone Code V2 just released. Code V1 is great fun is small surf, and they have worked hard to improve it.

Just sold my Mako 1.40 it was/is a great board but not for me. When ridden with moderate power and not edged too hard they deliver a smooth ride. In waves which is all we have locally, it loses grip suddenly when you do even moderately tight turns, especially on fast carving bottom turns, which leads to sudden face plant to splat. Really solid build and a bit heavy, they seem to last forever. I've ridden a 1.50 in mutant and TT, again, just not for me, at that length I'd much prefer to be on my evo style Blacksheep custom 5'2" (1.57). Several locals are hooked on this board (they all prefer TT mode) and a few of them also have Cab Tronics.
I've ridden my V1 Code in big surf here just staying the gutter and occasional runs out the back and charge back in on a bomb and I rate it similar to the Tronic.

Interesting tail shape on the ozone code v2.Looks like a slight concave in the tail.Like you I used the 140_150cm Makos tried also in mutant.
Lots of variation on makos for foot placement and fin configuration.Being a 100 kgs I enjoyed the 165Mako as a Mutant the most.Still terrific carving boards.
After nearly two years on Nomads wave TTips there's a big improvement in performance.
I take my Duotone Whip or wam and my nomad team or ccs wave depending on wave size or wind strength to the beach.Throw in a couple of Nexus done deal.

You have chosen the most expensive of the 4 Carbon options. I think even the base model will outperform a Mako. My Nomad is the CarbonCC . i have not tried a Mako but I have picked one up and although they may look the same from a distance, they are completely different. I guess you are posting because you are interested. If that is the case you should email Simon at Nomad and he can clear up any questions for you. They are a great product.

I got 2 makos currently - 150 & 165. Orange ones from 2017-18 (?) Never tried the Nomad but I'd like to. Price is a bit of an issue tho. What I like about my Makos is they make TT sessions in surf a bit more fun. Definitely easier to stay upwind than on a SB ( doing triangles for example), and they go better down the line than any conventional TT I've ridden. I don't boost much so the weight is not a problem, but they are heavy boards. I don't use them much for downwinders, but they are great for a quick session at 1 spot for catching a few waves and staying upwind with little/no effort. I have both set up in TT mode, haven't played much with mutant stance.

Had the same two makos but they are long gone now.Just the same situations great for wave riding a surf break and staying up wind in a triangular pattern.Still take my directional wam or whip but absolutely never leave my nomad wave at home.
