Looking for a new board simply for the sake it.
North X-ride seems like a good allrounder from what their ads say.
I am into all aspects of kiting, from jumping to wave riding and would like to progress to unhooked tricks.
Is there one board that is a good allrounder or am i dreaming?

the xride works pretty well in all conditions from what ive seen, havnt personally ridden it enough to make useful comments on pros and cons. but they are good in freestyle n big airs too as the soft flex is nice to land with.. from what i understand it is also made to be a sort of wave TT.. the fins that come with it could be worth replacing if they are those hook style fins

There was a review of them in the last KiteWorld.

I got one at the start of the season, and love it. Works well in chop, flat water and surf.

I normally ride at Dolls and it is a pleasure to ride super smooth through the lump we get there when the tide is going out. Rode in butter flat water and surf in New Cal, was a pleasure to ride in the flat water and I wouldn’t say I know what I’m doing in the surf with a kite but it seemed to work fine for me, I’ll also point out that it’s built well as the board and I spent a bit of time on the reef and it just has some minor scratches.

Some people aren’t a fan of the north straps and foot beds but I like the 08 north foot beds really comfortable even with big cuts on the bottom of your feet.

Has a deeper concave than most boards so it really holds a line but with the rounded edges it also gives a nice soft turning feel. I wouldn’t change the fins out, the ones that come with the board where designed for the board and it’s all around purpose and they work really well with it.

I really enjoy the board but that’s just me.

Rode a x-ride recently and so impressed bought one from the States immediately. Smoother than anything I've ever ridden. Was on an Underground FLX but this blew it out of the water as far as I'm concerned. Very reasonable price also at $820 delivered.
