I'm confused again. Is depower the main thing this dude wants in a kite?

If so, yeh the switchblade will do.

But it is what it is a freeride kite, not much else..

its hard to explain...

its not exactly depower, as in depower strap, and windrange.
im talking how the kites power is effected through the range of letting the bar out, some kites have a small range where the range of bar throw has no effect on the kite.

old kites usually have a really short range, the current torch seems the same yet the depower range is so long and pointless, you let the bar out and around 30cm up the lines are completly slack and do nothing.
im after a kite that has a decent range where the kite can still be steered correctly and the kite doesnt continue to be full power even when the bar is out.

yes it kinda sounds like im after a beginer kite, but there are kites out there that suit me, c4 is good but i want to wait to try the vegas.

Thanks guys that's awesome pretty much answers all I need to know.

As for the airrush kites I want to stick with a brand that my local store deals as I would rather give my money to people I know. Thanks anyway.

Sounds like the vegas will suit me perfectly, looking forward to demos.

Not worried about the actual bar pressure, just hoping that the new Vegas having lower bar pressure doesn't effect the other aspects of the kite hat I am after, as decreasing bar pressure can be done by moving front attachments back or rear back, to do this and continue to have a large depower range without bridles would be difficult.

4 or 5 line I'm not too fussed, I really like 5 line for light wind relaunch but hate it for tangles.

Hi,

how do you know that the next vegas will have less bar bressure ?

Talk of the town. Some crew had a big demo week in queensland, came back saying this...but they are retailers, although I do trust one of them I spoke to.

Most of the modern C's i've flown can be steered depowered. The shorter the throw the better I reckon, asks a rider to improve their skills.

As I offered earlier give my kite a go man, Epic Screamer 10m Ltd, sounds exactly what you want, and less pressure then most (similar to c4). Only once you trim kite on centers 10+ cm AND fully trim using the strap will it be unresponsive. It will keep you on your toes though!!
