Hi everyone,
I live in Valencia, Spain. Am interested in finding info from users of the North fuse 2013 in 12 or 14m. I have the opportunity to buy them at a very good price. Since I also have an EVO in 9m, I was thinking of getting a 14m in order to make the most of light wind conditions we have here most of the time (12/18 knots). I weight 72 Kg and ride an X-ride (135).
I´d love to hear feedback from some of the users of the 2013 models.

I have a 2013 14m Fuse which I bought specifically for light/medium conditions (13-17 knots). I am 10 kgs heavier than you. For me it works beautifully for those conditions but any lower and it becomes hard work to keep it in the air. At 18-20knts it really powers up hard but I like it. Its 5 struts and heavy construction have advantages but I think a purpose built lightwind kite may better suited if you plan on going out in below 13 knts. A few guys at my local swear by the Ozone Zephyr and although some say they are usable in upto 20knts my impression is that they are better utelised in low teens and lower.

on your 14M when you say it powers strong, do oyu mean difficult to handle? when the kite is depowered, do you still get some depower pushing the bar?

I have the 10 and 12mt. My weight is roughly 89kg and ride the Laluz 135.

The 12 is a great kite with good bottom and top end. I will get out in 14 knots anything less is just to hard. Personally I would not go bigger than the 12 as they become too heavy for lighter winds and very slow in turning with the type of construction compared to light wind kites.
If you consistently get 15-18 knots compared to 13-15 knots the 12 will work perfectly and once you are up in the top end range you will be able to handle it with no problems and boost very very big. It's true what they say "Plug it in and play". Very forgiving Freeride kite.
If you get more wind in the 13-15 range go a light wind big boy kite.
I did not even think about a 14 as the 12 will turn better, have just as good bottom end as the 14, as the 14 becomes heavy being bigger and have better top end.

hi mex, yeah kind of start thinking 12M. when you say you get out at 14 knots, is it fully powered up? or do you need to move the kite much? with my 72Kg, what do you reckon would be my range to go fully powered?

I never use de power at all. In my experience it makes kites fly strangely/badly. I try to bleed power of by edging harder. When I say the power gets strong in 18-20 I mean its tractor/truck like but not difficult to handle. At your weight if your going to be using it more in 15-20 rather than 12-17 I would guess a 12m would be more manageable. Its really hard to know actually... most guys at my local would get a 12 before a 14 but I've never regretted going against the trend. Some of my best sessions of all last season were on the 14 and I get many more sessions than most because it works well in marginal conditions. Even demoing a kite for a couple of hours will only give you a narrow slice of any kites performance.

Yeah I have to work it a little when changing direction and not work on cutting upwind too much. With your weight you probably will work it less at 15 knots it will start waking up.
