I am after some/any advise on the purchase of a new kite. I kite in Perth W.A in small surf on a North X-ride and also love trying to jump big(kite loops are now being attempted). I currently use a 7m core GT and are confused at what to buy next. I am looking for a kite that turns fairly quickly, jumps big, can ride unhooked and has a good wind range. Is this being unrealistic?

The more kite reviews i read from manufacturers the more confused i become. Is there some kites people have ridden that satisfy all/most of my requirements, any comments appreciated.

i think a f1 dos should go sweet . i have a 10mt and 13mt but i'm 90 kg great all round kite ,similar to the core, but faster heaps lighter on the bar nice to unhook on and heaps of grunt awsome for my favroite ....KITE LOOPING
.and great relunching. A GREAT ALL ROUND KITE. As old mate said dont rush try heaps , what ever you choose you will get used to it, happy kiting.

Try the the griffin argo im 70kg ,have flown it between 13-23 ish knts epic power ,its 9m, relaunch great , turns hard ,and a decent price, got to get your head around those name brand kites and dont support there big advertising costs.

try a 5.5m2 f-one bandit dos tomorrow in perth. 30knots and 3m swell.
launch off one of the ocean swells, pull on the back hand and should get you up there

Core GT way better then the Bandit Dos... Maybe at par with the Bandit Tres...
I actually think that the Core is a very nice kite.. Why do you want to change it?
My only complain when I tried (the 10'5) is the bar pressure, a bit heavy for my like and that the kite pull like a truck! But that is quite normal for a Delta..

The bandit 3 is the best unhooked kite to ride that fone has made so far, the bandit dos had a bad habit of catching the wingtip on a side line in a crash and even with the safety released the kite would keep looping. Masive windrange and a lighter bar presure as well on the B3.

Airush (Lithium, Varial and Vapor)
Ozone (Sport +, Catalyst, Light XC, Edge RX, C4)

All of these kites are available to demo every day. From the description you have written of your needs, the Core GT and XR are two of the biggest boosting kites in the business. The Ozone C4 also goes massive and has a great wind range. The North Fuse goes large.

You shouldn't need to upgrade the 7m GT, it goes scary big in the right hands. I got my biggest jumps ever at Kitestock last year on the 7m GT.

Don't rule out the Slingshot RPM. Great for unhooking, fast, jumps well and is very well priced. Looks like not much has changed between 2009 and 2010 model (why ruin a great kite) so you could probably get a new 2009 at a good price.

Hey Waxman, the new Bularoo may look similar to the 09 Waroo but it is certainly not the same, having spent today riding 5m,7m and 9m Bularoo back to back with the 09 Waroo(WA is a mecca!) I will guarantee they are different. Not posting a review until the weekend after a couple more days on them. Bularoo's 5m, 7m, 9m and 11m now available for demo in Geraldton, followed by kitestock and woodies the weekend after kitestock.

we only recieved the first kites yesterday so it is hard to give a good review at the moment. More time on the kite and I will post a review. At this stage, this kite would suit such a huge range of styles. Perfect for the rider looking to do everything.

IMO the ss RPM is a very average kite for anyone that weighs in over 60kgs they just dont seem to have enougth grunt for bigger guys. I donnt think i have tryed a bridled c kite that realy feels like a c or has the power of a bow they just sit in the midle average at everything but realy excels at nothing.

I will definatly be demoing a new bularoo. I realy liked the kahoona and last years waroo. Best seem to be coming up with some good gear, definatly not the most high performance kites(apart from the nemi) but realy user friendly.

Graf, I would talk to Kitehard and get some testing. Try before you buy should be your motto because kite 'A' might meet 80% of kiting population requirements but 20% will hate it. But, 20% rides using different style that doesn't match what this kite has been designed for.

If you know exactly what you want and what you expect from the kite then have a go on couple of them and decide.

Hey Graf - I'm with Green Menace. Try the 7m Griffin Argo. For your weight and needs, it would kill it for you!
