I'm looking for heads up on naish ride and its light wind brother the fly I'm into free ride and want to start trying old school big floaty airs and tricks was wondering how these kites fair and are they any good getting back upwind quickly after doing decent long floaty jumps.

Had to look up your kite Kamikuza, where did you get yours from I can't seem to find any shops that deal with them, I like getting a brief run down on them and then if its got my interest I really have to be able to demo one, my current LW is 19m core but I'm looking at upgrading to a new 3 kite quiver, needs to be high aspect for upwind speed and big floaty jumps, my bones are too old for freestyle/wake style lol

I think you'll get more bottom end out of the 19... but the Flite is just so flickable. It's not high AR at all, but it just floats... better than my XBs too. Builds apparent wind really nice, I love it.

The new OR Prodigy is supposed to be a very user-friendly, with good float too. Up to 14m... Flite is 15 or 17.5.

Ride is targeted as an all-rounder...

But I like love jumping too - and my XBs go well when the wind is up, and the float is acceptable. I torn about ditching them for the few pennies they'd bring or keeping them for when I just want to boost. I'll have to figure out how to hide them from the wife...

Nothing like a foil though, for just hanging around looking at the scenery... that's a whole other kettle o' fish though :lol:

There's always the Draft, if you want high AR and a Naish. I must try to get a ride on one, we got them at the clubhouse...

Shane we have had a demo FLY all season but if you want floaty old school you will prefer the Draft as Kamikuza mentioned.

This isn't my experience at all. Found it needs no more back foot drive than any other big kite. I mostly ride it strapless on my North Nugget.
The first model FLY prefers the two forward most connection points for the bridle, never put it on the back knot.

As I said, that was my impression of the first gen - the Fly2 apparently addressed that "issue".

Don't think so man, I think your thinking of your core, the fly goes upwind so easy. For floaty
jumps go the draft
