heard the bar pressure is HEAVY!
guess it depends how ur tshirt muscles are...

Hmm maybe read up kiteforum and see the reviews, and maybe the complaints about new kites.

good to learn from others...

The shockwave 12m is a very smooth, nice flying kite, however it has heavy bar pressure. It's build quality is vey good with nice little touches here and there, turns quickly on the standard bar and is able to keep 90+ kg pilot on an average size board up wind in as little as 13/14 knots.

The bar setup is the only negative about this kite, however you can change the pulley setup so that it is similar in operation to a sonic/waroo and this stops the heavy bar pressure. Doing this slows the turning speed of the kite a little but makes it a lot nicer to fly. I found when flying the kite on the standard bar setup that the steering was a little to sensitive too rider input and I was always correcting it.

I liked the kite and felt it flew better and had more power than my sonic 11m (have flow my sonic in up to 35 knots, sonic may have a better top end, but haven't compared yet).

Worth the extra fun vouchers over the my sonic, No.........

I HAVE BEEN RIDING A 9 AND 12M SHOCKWAVE SINCE THEY FIRST MADE IT TO AUS AND HAVE PERSONALY FOUND THEM TO BE THE ULTIMATE IN PERFORMANCE ESPECIALLY IF YOU RIDE EM IN THE SURF.THEY HAVE A FAR SUPERIOR BUILD QUALITY THAN ANY OTHER KITE.BAR PRESSURE IS NOT AN ISSUE AT ALL.DONT KNOW WHO DECIDED THERE WAS.THE KITES ARE UNREAL MATE.

i know a kiter that has a 12 mtr Shockwave and a 16 mtr Slingshot Turbo Diesel.

and from his reports, the 16 mtr Turbo Diesel has a heaps lighter bar pressure...

I have both a 12 and 16 mtr turbo diesel, i havent tried a shockwave,
but have to say that i think that my 16 mtr is a little on the heavy side, and the 12 mtr is just right........

all the waroo owners i know totaly love theyre kites so i suggest trying one even tho i,m a Slingshot fan .

if you can demo a 12 mtr Turbo Diesel, do it!!, they totaly rock, or if ur willing to wait for the 2007 kites try a Slignshot LINK.

I have a 12m shock wave and 16 meter turbo diesel.

the 16 m turbo diesel has 60 percent less bar pressure then the 12m shock wave...

yes the shock wave has too much bar pressure , but is configured for a 2:1 ratio. If you look at the new boxer SLE it has the ability to covert from a 1:1 which is low bar pressure to a 2:1... Apparently you can cover the shock over and I tried it on the week.. low and behold hardly any bar pressure..

shock wave is my favourite kite,, but my back hurts lol...

get a shokc wave they are the best and fastest turning kite I have tried.
