I've recently aquired a new X4 and my god its a high powered Kite!! I weigh 70 kgs and am becoming frustrated at the small difference between depowered and full on for young and old! Has anyone got advice for me for the X4? Is it a kite that was discontinued for a reason? or do i need more practice? I'm riding a naish sol 125.

The x4 is a pretty high aspect kite that is not really forgiving.
It delivers massive air and hangs a lifetime thats what it was basically made for.It is not a real forgiving kite when something goes wrong.

I saw a guy that attached a fifth line to the kite and he told me that it did help in the depowering of the kite and greatly assisted in the water relaunches.I fly 06 ravens and they made the kite medium to high aspect which is a little more forgiving and offers really good depower.

thanks danza... with all this rain around in perth i had some time to attach a fifth line using some older lines i had... the X4 has that dam fine pump loop on the kite so i've used that. will give it a run

if anyone else has experience with X4's let me know what you've done pleeeaassseee ....

You could up grade the bar and lines to the new 06 shift system this would give you a nicer bar set up that would work with the X4.

Great kite however, a flexy board that edges well will help you control the power much more.
