WAHT IS THE difference between the boards t5 2009 and t5 2010?

I had the 2009 mate, great board. The misses has a 2010 T5. The 2010 has new pads n straps and slightly different tip shape. I personally don't like the 2010 pads (I got the 2010 NHP and have fitted Cab Sync bindings to all our boards)

I don't think there is much difference besides that. You may like the 2010 pads, some people hate the 2009 ones which I found very comfy.

is the roker the same ?

The rocker is very similar but the new shape has less spray and myself i prefer the new pads and straps. Ive ridden both in same size and personally prefer 2010 in the surf, but the 50/50 is even better

The T5 is a great choice no matter which year you go for ie 2009 or 2010. The 2010 has been tweaked slightly over the 2009 T5 with fin placement, slight shaping, construction composition and the introduction of the new IFS Pro straps. The 2010 will feel a bit smoother based on the new upgrades. If you can save quite a bit with going the 2009 route then great go that way. Either choice will work great for all round surf.

i got the t5 2009 new in agood price with the new pads

surf it in 25 knots very chopy and its like a range rover smooth ride

I ride the 2009 T5 134x41 for 3 hours yesterday. Borrowed it from at friend.
That board was awesome. I don't know why, but I seemed to go better upwind than on my own TTs that are 132x41 and 135x41. And the difference was not only marginal.
At the same time it handled chop very very well? Pop for unhooked stuff was also very good.

Strange! I could understand the upwind ability if it was very stiff with a flat rocker, but since it handles chop so well that can't be the case. Hmm what's the secret?

I am gonna get one for sure. But will the changes on the 2010 make it less good upwind? It was said above it handles chop better than 2009..... but at what price/sacrifice?
At +90 kg upwind qualities are important to me!

It hasn't lost any light wind or upwind ability. You would stick to the same size as the 09 model

Wonder if 137x42 will be to big for my 90 kg?
I ride freestyle on amateur level = no passes.
Do raleys, s-bends, uh backrolls and kiteloops etc.
14 - 30 knots wind.

Does the 137 feel much bigger than the 134 when the wind picks up?

You would probably be alright with either the 134 or the 137. 137 would give you a better bottom end (probably a couple of extra knots), wheras the 134 would be more fun in the high wind.

If its your only board id probably go with the 137, nothing worse than those days where you can't go out cause its not quite enough. It depends on what your wind is like and how desperate you get

You might want to have a ride of the NHP too, nearly as good on the bottom end as the T5 as far as upwind ability goes, but as far as load and pop goes its a dream to ride. Doesn't spray in your face either

Think I'm gonna go with a 2 board quiver actually. Biggest possible light wind freestyle board uaseable for uh freestyle + main board.
Tried a Crazyfly Rocky 135x41 the other day in high winds. also sweet.

Anyway could be T5 137 + NHP size ?? (your rec. for 90 kg and 20+ knots?)

What the purpose of the EXT/XTR when the T5 is in size 137? You don't want bigger freestyler than that??

If your going for two board don't like at your larger board to be freestyle orientated, as if the wind is light enough to need a large board you can't do much In the way of freestyle any way. Get a large board that's fun like the spleene door 2010. It's agile and fun for a big board, you can do backloops and that on it still if you want and will definitly get you out at the lowest end your biggest kite is capable of. I love my door board it's great.
Just choose a mid sized board for your freestyle. 134 is a very good size especially if the board is 42 wide like the nhp's as they are very efficient and the smaller size makes tricks easier.

Bought the RRD Poison 133x41 today, Gonna test that for a while.
Borrows the T5 134 again today. Very nice board still. The Poisons are also killer board. Had 2 already.

No door for me ..... ever! Rather do something else in such light winds.
I am talking uh freestyle. Some days there is enough wind for uh kiteloops etc, but when gusty I loose ground in the lulls. That's why I wonder which big board is suitable for keeping upwind for the next trick. To avoid spending to much time gaining ground again after e.g. some kiteloops.
T5 137? ...... EXT ???
