This may start another pimp sesh but I was looking at pic's of an Ozone Edge and the NEW kites and they look practically the same.

The outline is very very similar, they both C shapish and they both have 7 struts/(NEW kites have 5 + 2 battons = 7) and they 5 liners.

The only difference is one is High Aspect and the other is medium.

I havent flown the Edge but I have flown the Sport II and the NEW kites and I enjoyed both of them. I felt they were similar but both having their own seperate attributes.

Cheers

you've got to be kidding

these kites are in no way similar at all, apart from the fact they are both five liners. they don't even look remotely similar?

Has anyone noticed the Neutralizer 5th line function on the NEW kites.
It works as

-Full time connected 100% flagging safety. This is a reliable, relaunchable safety. Its ideally used riding sliders or connected for max power unhooked moves where your kite may crash really, really hard.

-With a small amount of practice you can hold the 5th leader line and control the angle of attack and how quick the kite relaunches. This is excellent to prevent hot launches in over 20 knot conditions.

-The 5th is easily reached as it is connected to your safety leash. You can apply tension to it to relaunch fast.

- The 5th can be released. If its all too difficult and your 5th has bow tied the kite. Simply open the Trippin release and the kite will fly like a 4 liner. There is a primitive reride system just above the super soft bar ends on the right to self land your kite.

- The 5th also supports the arc in extreme powered situations. In turn this enhances its agility.

I've got plenty more details to make differences in the bar, rigging and kite design but I thought I would just speak about the 5th line.

G'day Rich

I own an Ozone Sport 11m and a New O.S 9m and I've found they're pretty different kites - both in shape, rigging, bar and handling attributes.

I've written a pretty comprehensive review of both kites at:

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
