Recently got a Mystic 3/2 steamer.

I think it needs to be pimped because I'm sick of buying big brands that fall apart due to liquid seams that crack and fall off. So I'm glad to see a wetty out there with flexible glued seams (no liquid seems) with all the mod cons like thermal layer all the way through and super comfy.

It also comes with mini holes to exit the water from getting stuck in your legs when you kite and little Velcro ties if you are really worried about this issue (that can be taken off).

Anyway its great to see a wetty made for kiting that's still toasty and comfy for surfing.

I went a mystic last winter, awesome wetty, great quality, still good as new, live in the birthplace of ripcurl and quiksilver, bought them for over 30 years, currently own all three brands, rate the mystic very highly.

I got a 3/2 mystic star this winter, my first steamer, very happy with it, except that the velcro around the neck always catches the material inside and when you pull it off it damages it....

The Quality of the Mystic wetsuits has raised the bar for every other wetsuit brand out there!

That sounds like a back zip right? Chest zips are the way to go.. I cant see that issue on mine!

The majestic is what Ive got.

Its got the warm lining inside that makes it feel dryer when you have to put it on again when its wet.

I've been a big advocate of the mystic wetsuits for years, the star which is their base model is a great wetsuit, the 4/3 IMHO is too warm for most parts of aus, nz or taz more suited, I've had a local show his latest e bomb for the last 3 years whilst I'm still on my original, only thing I've fixed are Velcro ankle straps, but spares came free from new, the sizing is a bit different I feel as they are a euro based company,

The new Mystic wetsuits are amazing, i have had the Majestic 3/2 all winter and it is just as flexible as any of the high end wetsuits (quicky, ripcurl, billabong, o'neill). It is very warm with the fleece in the right area's, chest back etc.

I wont wear anything else while kiting now as the ankle straps and drainage system work really well. I have been surfing in the suit as well all winter :)

Buy local guys! If you need a place to buy i can point you to the nearest one just pm me.

There is a way better choice in UK and their pricing and service is what we Aussie retailers need to aspire to.
My main wettie is a Mystic front zip and my backup is a Ripcurl back zip. Both UK sourced.
My wife has the dealing sussed and we do the legwork getting them for some of my kiting students that can't work a computer. (Yes believe it or not, there are some Dumb kiters out there. Maybe too much time on forums does it to you.)

Only thing to be careful of - with the slick outer they are not as tough, and you really need to be careful about tearing them. All mine have ended up with transverse tears 3 inches up from the ankle where the heel pulls on it as you are putting it on.\

Also, when it gets older it starts tearing everywhere. Three tears getting dressed on Friday - two in the leg, and one under the left armpit.

I love the wettie and will buy it again, but don't expect it to last

Hi Brady, I have owned my Mystic wetsuits for just on 8 months now and they have not shown any signs of wear. I have worn my 3/2 spring YZ suit for most days on the water both at the cable park and at the beach. I have landed on rails numerous times with the suit and it has not torn. Where you say "Don't expect it to last" I completely disagree with this statement. I still have a Mystic wetty that I had when I first got into the sport that has hardly shown signs of wear. I choose to ride Mystic products because of the versatility, durability and comfort. I use both my spring and steamer for surfing, kiting, wake boarding and when ever I'm in the water and it's chilly!. Glad to hear that you loved your suit!

Btw, I'm riding for mystic Aus. Everything said is honest and my personal opinion.

my last 2 Mystic wetties didn't last the season, The smooth skin definitely doesn't last long.Lots of cuts and after a year a lot of cracks- splits in shoulders. My mates have found the same and now are using other brands.

I think how long they last depends on a number of things (like riding style, fit, care, frequency of use...etc)

My ion semi-dry isn't perfect after one season but I wouldn't complain about how awesome it has been. I'm keen to try mystic but I can't find anywhere that stocks them in Melbs

My mystic star which is their base model lasted 4 kite seasons until I forgot it at the beach, it was still in great condition, not bad for $100

The trick is to keep your socks on when putting your legs into your wetsuit. Makes it much easier. Sure you end up with wet socks if your suits still wet but everythings a compromise.

I've been riding the ND Pro, the YZ pro, and the Majestic and they are really really nice. Came off a few years on O'Neill suits and I much prefer Mystic. Worth a look for sure. Price is very competitive too for such a good brand.

I got last years YZ pro and the new Legend...both awesome suits. So warm during seshs in VIC winter in the Legend and it hardly even gets wet inside cos its quick dry material.
Only thing with the YZ model is that the rubber seal on the neck disolves from sunscreen and I get off the water with a massive black mark around my neck haha.

Yeah that will happen with any suit that has that material on the neck, give it 20 minutes to let the sunscreen dry before putting your wetty on and you should be good.

Yes! Your wetsuit will last a very long time if you rinse your wetty off in fresh water! I normally come home and jump straight in the shower with my wetty on if not I use the showers at the beach. Also try not to prolong the time that it sits in the sun. Hang it up out of the sun!!

Thanks Manny.
