The griffins are an amazing kite, I have seen them out in 40+knots and they are rock solid, I have seen a 15m handle 9 to 32 knots, a 12m in gusty 30+ knots and stay rock solid. The griffin has an amazing low end and top end wind range.
Below are some reviews of the 12m griffin, I have sold 30+ griffins and not had a single complaint about inversions, the build quality is top quality and they are not the dreaded cheep "china kites" crap kites that you may have been confused with. They are designed by an Aussie, and tested/sold in over 30 countries world wide. All the griffins have a ID number and 6 month warente, with a refund if the user doesn't like the kite. since I haven't heard any complaints and had 0 refunds requested I guess jumpindave must be confused with another brand.

Good: I wanted to try and use just this one kite to cover all condtions. I found i could kite surf in 16m weather right up to 9m weather. When riders of similar weight were over powered on a 9m , i also at became over powered on my 12m. When riders didn't have enough to kite on their 16m's this was the time that i didn't have enough for the 12m Griffin. After a few months of kiting in anything from 12-35mph with just one kite size, i was definatly impressed by the huge huge range of this kite. The jumps are the biggest that i have had on any kite, and the air time is good and very very floaty.
the bar system is simple, and the choice of 1:1 light bar pressure, and 2:1 for a more direct feel and heavier pressure is nice to have, and gives 2 very different feels.
The price is also very
Bad: The depower cleat can be a litle awkward at times, but the new jacket over it, seems to have cured that. Wax can also be applied to make it even more effective.
Review: To sum this up, it is a well built , high performce bow that performs as well as the best kites on market for a fraction of the price. Every time we demo one, we win another kiter over.

kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2332250&highlight=griffinI received my 9 and 12 Griffins last week, but was tied up at work and couldn't take them out until yesterday.
The first thing I noticed as I was pumping up the kite was the high aspect ratio. Much higher than any bow/SLE kite I have seen before.
Well, after pumping up the kite and walking the lines out, I launched the kite. While I was walking to the water (about 13 Knots) the kite was hanging very stable in the air, but it didn't feel as if there was any power in the kite. I looked to see whether or not it was fully powered up, but everything looked fine. I put the board on and dipped the kite... Wow!!!! An unbelievable amount of power.. I let the bar go and the power slacked off.
The bar pressure was quite high, but I haven't tested a bow/SLE that hasn't had a lot of bar pressure. What makes the monkey bar different though is the bar stopper that actually works... (Very simple setup, easy to use and set to the correct power setting. Well done Saul!) You can really fly this kite like a C-shape.
The wind picked up a bit and the bar pressure became less.
Jumps were extremely high, and insanely long hang times. Very, very nice.
I changed the bar setting from 1:2 to 1:1 and if the kite hadn't impressed me by now then this had certainly done it. A completely different kite. No bar pressure, even higher jumps and longer hang times.
I love this Kite!!!!
11 out of 10... Thanks Monkey..
You are right. It's the best flat kite i have ever used. fast turning, low bar pressure, unbelievable lift potential and amazing low end! I can use my 130 cm board and griffin 15 in 4.5m/s !

Good: Best jumps ever, amazing wind range, great simple convertable bar system. No problem transitioning from C kites
Bad: Bar pressure more than a C kite, when in pully mode
Review: Also trialed 15 and 9 Griffin in pretty much all kiteable winds from 10 to 35 knots. For me this is the pick of the bunch an all round fantastic kite. The Monkey bar system allows you to lock in the power, even when fully powered this kite turns incredibly fast. The jumps are high and floaty, relaunches easy, the only dilemma for me was which one to order, ( I chose the 12)
