I decided to do the "right thing" and purchase a helmet to use on my kitesurfing journey.

My son's challenge - "if I have to wear a helmet when I'm on my bike/skateboard/scooter you should wear a helmet if you're going to do that". Absolutely right and impossible to ignore if I'm to set a good example (not to mention be sensible about it).

I have to say that I was surprised to see how few (if any) of the kite surfers at the site where I have had my lessons wear a helmet for this "potentially hazardous sport".

So I purchase a Maelstorm AQUA WAVE Helmet making sure I buy the correct size of course. Size M (56-58CM), for my 57cm cranium.

The website claims "Super soft comfort padding".

Am I just being a little precious here or would anyone else agree that this is a very uncomfortable helmet to wear? Will it soften up (reshape) with a bit of use?
