I am looking to buy a Car... and of course, it will be used mainly to lug sand around Sydney -- Precious beach sand falling out of my kites, shoes and boards.

Sand blown in by the wind...

What are popular Kite mobil's in the Sydney area?

Considerations -
** Space (Wagon shape? or Van)
** 4x4 needed? sand areas - is it really needed, or just a show
** Newish or Old pieca crap
** Reliable -- I have limited time to kite... can not afford to stand next to the road...

I am currently considering the options: oldish Camry (95), or a Toyota RAV ('00 - '03) or a Honda CRV('00 - '03) or Subaru Outback ('00 - '02)

Any ideas on this? -- Any "Kite car Reviews?"

Thanx heaps...

I've got a holden ute and it's great. But i don't reckon it's the best - hard to keep everything safe.
Subies go and go. I'm a big fan of the outback and you can get good prices for second hand models. Much cheaper to run than a real 4x4. Except the turbo's are thirsty!

I have an Outback. I can fit both my boards inside across the back (137x39, 135,48), 3-4 kites, wettie box etc all under the luggage curtain.
