Looks pretty cool, but is pretty expensive with the Aussie dollar so crap , it all appears to be priced based on USD $ ?, I would like to see the new bws kit tho

I don't have much of an opinion on the kite but that is a sick photo!! I like how you can see his trail of where he has been and now smacking it!!

it didnt mention the style of the bar attachment to the harness? is it the ian alldredge style of a clip with no chicken loop or is it the chicken loop style

The 2015 bws bar is a refined version of the previous one, still with chicken loop. Its not difficult to remove the loop and replace with a shackle. Cant imagine any brand advocating that additional risk off the shelf though. He also removes the trim cleat to have a full clean run on bar depower. Again, not difficult to do if you put your mind to it.

To have the same prices as the big brands is ridiculous.
Also, surf kiting is a fad, like supping and pillow biting.

Within two years the brand will cease to exist.

BWS makes good solid kites. I've been on the newest noise pro's for a while and they're awesome. The TDZ kites are supposed to have more responsive turning and de power with a little different bridal, I'm sure they're killer kites.

The no chicken loop set up is something that interests me, I would like to see some brands coming out with a good safe alternative, I ride with a sliding spreader and it adds an extra 10 or 15cm to the reach which is already really long on the bws kites, this makes riding in certain conditions uncomfortable as I am a bit bent over to get the full depower

Board riding Maui that make the cloud kites have a similar setup with no chicken loop and no trim strap and the idea is that having such a long depower throw within easy reach negates the need for a trim strap ( not totally sure about that one) it also means no leash, the system still flags out but it attaches straight to the harness with 2 releases one for flagging and one for total release, brm are definitely a bit left of centre with their ideas but I think they have some merit behind them

Ian Alldredge is a guru. I wouldnt do his chicken loop but its great to see some innovation away from the norm.

Just got the 8m TDZ, looks nice, seems lighter than the pro so probably move faster in the air and drifts (even) better. Lack of pulleys and wider bridle should add direct control. Now waiting for some wind.

i also use the above mentioned Cloud kites and bar In light winds. I love the freedom of trimming and endless de power (no trim strap) , much more subtle in setting the kite properly, bit like sailing. The flag release is good, full release a bit more fiddly if in a panic situation as you have to pull the release ball towards you rather than away, but its not difficult to add a short release leash to replace it.

As for hewho bashes small companies, imagine how boring and restricted our sport would be without the small niche players out there pushing particular limits. Big companies the masses, they dont lead.

The more we support the guys like BWS and Cloud, more we will get back in return.

hmmm, those kites look strikingly similar to the Flow3 kites that I am flying now. Fantastic kites....Never rated the older BWS kites before, but no doubt they are getting better. I also like that there are small kite companies out there, and certainly like that they make kiting more affordable. The way these kites sit up while parked on the beach is exactly like the FLow3, they sit so high up you almost can't put any sand on them to hold them down. If these new TDZ kites are anything like the FLow3 then they will be great kites...

Watch out for the IA signature Rawson BWS board ( the one in the pic) - hope its out soon, a bunch of us got to play with a proto in 6m winds and all agreed its a very nice ride

The BWS bars are really clean and work well. Now they've made it so it's just a loop to loop connection to change out the trim strap and get rid of the chicken loop if you want.
