NORTH REBEL 10m

Rider: 80kg Advanced (?)
Style: Freeriding
Weather: 15-21 knots
Build Quality: 9/10
Satisfaction: 9.5/10
Disclosure: Team rider for retailer and work there from time to time.

My Comments:

After dicking about trying some other kites for a while, what I wanted wasmore boost and hang time.

I got it....yay Boost and hang time as good as my old Ion2's!!!

5 lines gives absolute control. I knew where it was at all times. Loops like a whippet but stable power throughout.

Unhooked was nice. Didn't rip my arms off.

Relaunch was a piece of piss.

Build quality was excellent, wingtip dump valve made packing up easy.

I'll post more info tomorrow when I get to try the 8m

Did I mention a store name?

I wrote an honest review about a kite I enjoyed riding.

too much sheeting in and out on the Fuse for me. I like no bridles and not much bar throw.

Horses for courses.

I was boosting as high on the Rebel as I was on the Fuse.

I have heard that it depends if you are riding a TT or a directional is the difference with the Fuse and the Rebel. Rebel for directional, and Fuse for TT...

Agree??? Disagree???

hmmmm, interesting! i assumed that since the fuse was 4 line, and had more bar throw (depower?) it would be preferable for wave riding? opinions please???

I demoed the 9 fuse the other day in 18 -20 kts (which is usually 11m kite range for me at 93kg) and was nicely powered. kite felt really nice unhooked has awesome pop and not a heavy pull afterward like i get ATM with my current kites.
Kite was really light on the bar ( i think lighter than the rebel but was comparing a 10 rebel to a 9 fuse) yet kite feedback is really good.
Both the rebel and fuse are super responsive and smooth.

I am just starting to get into waves aswell (surfed for 15 years ,kited for 3 but throw a kite in there in the surf and i feel like a kook) but i thought a five line kite in the surf increased the risk of cutting the kite in half? Hence i thought a fuse would be better in waves than the rebel.
I know i should always keep the kite flying but i am sure a crash in the impact zone is eventually inevitable.

Depends what you like.

I like a kite that doesn't need a lot of sheeting in and out. Kites with bridles tend to have more bar throw than a kite with direct attachments.

I ride with the bar locked in most of the time. So the Rebel suits me in the surf and on the flat. Better for unhooking also.
