It would be great to hear some nasty things about CORE kites from people in the know we are all aware they look like s..t ,that awfull yellow colour, just cant cope with it, but perhaps except the colour( lets forget for the moment thats most important), something like recent post "09Cabrinha pulley failure"or REV bar issues" and of course we know the CORE KITES are obsolete- they have pulles, 6 of them.
Got my new 7 m today but it looks like no right wind till the weekend so I cant contribute with some horror stories except that its yeeeeelllow and yes 6 nasty cheap looking pulles made in China.
Sorry Steve ,but I WANT TO RETURN this crap- can I /.

In the other core thread you said you didnt want to go demo the kite when offered. Now you have the kite u want to return it, without even trying it. Even though everybody who has ridden one has been impressed. If I was a shop owner I would hate tossers like you

Also, who gives a fig what colour it is. all that matters is how it flys. Its not a beauty pagent pretty boy.

sorry ,changed my mind ,I think it has the worst bar- even the worse than REVS bar and the pulles are definetly made in the same s..t hole in China as Cabrinha kites and its pulles- having said that ,cant wait till Saturday.
Cheers

Kadkhah! Im very sorry it looks Im ruinning your topic, but my intentions were quite opposite, hope you understand.
Please guys who dont get, try to forget what I said and give Alex the downsides of the CORE KITES, perhaps dont mention yellow colour, sure he knows this fact.
Personally I would love to know those downsides myself since from now on it will be my kite of choice- even without demo.
Perhaps there are others who think to switch the brands, so such topic is really great.
Thanks.

No worries, I'm asking to hear the downsides and I think it is a beautiful color anyway.
My 08 Naish had Chinese pulleys and I never had problem with them and I know about Cabrinha, there are lots of complains about Cabrinha cause they sell so many kites, in every beach with 35 kiters you'll fine 20 Cab kites, 10 SS & the rest is all the other brands.

However I haven't heard any complains about the Core kites yet (again it is possible that it's because there are not so many of them out there).

I'm actually thinking about getting a 7m GT, that's why I'm asking.

We do agree on colours Alex ,Im just one step ahead of you .My new 7m GT already in my possession and waiting for the right wind to spread the wings.
Its true what you said about Cabs, they are everywhere, every kook like me seems to have one or two, that single thing would make me NEVER buy a Cabrinha kite, even if they were not made in CHINA.
Come on people bring on the bad news about CORE kites, put Alex off buying one or two of them.
As I said before, cant tell much myself, but I remember that one of the guys ( doing Deltas review) said that GTs dont have smooth consistent power like DOS ,also someone told me they were very bad for learners since they dont depower as much as DOS or other kites- thats probably not a big deal since they arent aimed for learners I think, there are so many excellent kites to learn like Waroos, or now BIG trainer kite KAHOONA and plenty others.

I have just purchased a Core GT 10.5m last week from Darren at AKS and it is the most brilliant kite I have ever flown. I kited in marginal 15-18knots on thursday and blistering 20-25knots on Friday - the kite just ate and chewed on those conditions. From brilliantly lofty jumps to wave riding it excelled. I used both my Airush Choptop 09 and North XRide 09 and both boards felt completely different to when I was using my old PL. I could not recommend a better kite on the market (I've tried the new Bandit Dos - don't waste your money!!!).
Also, I'm 102kg and the 10.5 just blasted in both light and heavy conditions.

Sorry to say that phili but its not kind of post we are waiting for, please come up with some downsides, there must be something bad with GT, perhaps the bar or something else, just dont mention the colour, we know .....its yellooow.

Actually, I tested a Gt 10,5 in gusty conditions and found it to be good but not as good as the Dos. It does not a fair bit of attention is gusty conditions. It turns more around its axis than the Dos and bar pressure increases substantially with increasing wind. Ditch the microloop, its dangerous. The timing on the landing has to be more precise than with the Dos.
I bought 10 and 7 Dos.

Fair enough cezary - the micro loop is something I do not like!! Re gusty conditions: I have tried both a 9m Dos and the 10.5m GT on the same day in conditions 20-28knots gusty. I firmly believe that less attention to kite position was required for the GT. I found both kites to be similar but the Dos definitely was a bit more flighty. Small adjustments at the bar are translated into movement by the Dos whereas the GT seemed to be more forgiving.

Yes, I am now biased to the Core GT but I gave both a try and truthfully prefer the GT.
