Hi all -
I've just bought 7m and 9m vegas kites. I'm at the early stages of unhooking but keen to progress! A couple years ago I sort of managed a railey and an unhooked backroll. Have had to take the last 2 seasons off, but this season I'm super keen to get back to where I left off and then some.

Looking for board recommendations. There are so many choices out there, it's pretty overwhelming.

Any freestyle board known for being easier on the knees? Or does a good freestyle board need to be really stiff?

I'm 60kg. Thinking of getting boots as well - never tried them before, but my smallish feet keep slipping out of regular foot straps.

Naish monarch is pretty good. As for boots, good for learning unhooking i think. But not so good for extreme stuff like learning to kiteloop

Rubbish. Boots are awesome for learning kite loops.

Freestyle boards can be a little harsh on the knees. A high rocker board may be what your after. If you definitely going to get boots, firstly make sure the board is compatable for boots. Have a look at the best admarda.

Choices for girls boards and boots are much better these days. Easier on the knees will be a high rocker board, which will also be perfect for some unhooked stuff, while compromising on upwind and board speed (so when boosting and going upwind you need to apply a slightly different technique than a stiff low rocker board). And if at your weight you'd normally ride I assume a 130-133 then for boots go 135-136 as you need to compensate for the rocker, have some space on the board (mainly width) to actually place the boots and not have them drag through the water too much when edging hard, and you will be able to control heaps more power hence a larger board will be possible (better pop and better landings on a larger board plus the mentioned compensation for the slighlty less efficient upwind capability).

Look for Katie Potter on facebook- she shreds adn can tell you her own experience with boards etc.

Karolina winkowska slingshot refraction board, Bruna kajiya airush diamond board, and the Susi Mai tona eden kiteboard there's three solid lady's boards for you to have a look at and they are all good for boots.
