Rider: 96kgs ,Level intermediate
Style: Freeriding, Surf,
Weather: 14-18 knots
Build Quality: 9.5/10 - damn some of those connections are tiny!!!
Satisfaction: 9/10
Disclosure: big, slow and old but lovin it! That me not the kite

I have had the 6 and 10m Pulse 2 now for a little while and enjoying them immensely once I learnt to ride them. But I needed a bigger kite and the 15m P4 was the answer. THis kite is big... but its a 15m so there you go. But it is a pleasure to fly, smooth - soaks up the gusts and lifts and glides with effortless ease.

It has a tractor pull - but in light winds you need that and the way it changes canopy shape as in the marketing material is pretty cool to watch but more so very effective when on the water. It drifts back in the wind well when in the middle of the wind window, when on the edge it can have a tip fold in a little so you need to move it in the air at times.

The bar is great - same as the bar on the new core kite, simple effective and works well, its a pretty heavy bar but solid and the only thing to improve it would be to have ribbing on the bar like the airush bars have.

Overall a great kite and a pleasure to ride, its a pretty decent change from inflatables, but once you are used to the differences its plain sailing and as much fun any inflatable I have ridden - given that on any kite I am no where using it to its full potential given my skill level.

Ohh and how simple is setup and pack down... cant wait for Bali this June hope there is wind as this will be the surf kite... heaps fast enough thats for sure.

You said the bar is the same as CORE, I didnt know that anybody made bars as good as CORE so I went to the flysurfer products to see specif. for that great bar but I must be too stupid to find one its not listed under product, bars etc.
CORE site is a bit diffrent even stupid people like me can just clik on " bars "and see full specif.I guess CORE has nothing to hide .

Hi robbo, couple ?? to you, lancekenny gave me the link to the gallery where I can see bar photoes, well Im not that stupid I did saw it before but it didnt give me all the info.like CORE site does so can you please confirm that Flysurfer bar is:
*adjustable and what width is avail.
*self-unswivelling, I belived it was patented by CORE
*rear lines can be adjusted in the floaters
As to the 2nd ? (you are probably the best guy to answer it) I also fly 10.5 GT as my light wind kite and have 7m for 20 knots plus days, Im going to stick with these kites for long time but in spring Im going to add Flysurfer kite, what do you think would be the best addition to such great kites as GTs, Im thinking PSYCHO or SPEED.
Im most intrested in big air but also would like have something for the extreme light wind days below 12 knots when my big GT refuses to go upwind, I dont know if its actually possible to meet these 2 goals with one Flysurfer kite , just asking.
I dont really want to kite in such extreme light wind like 10 or 11 knots but sometimes its just necessary when the forecast fails ( happens often in Melbourne) and if I commit to coming to the beach I never give up before the end of the day.
There is actually 3rd ? Can you use CORE bar on your Flysurfer, as you know CORE bar has equell line calibration I would think its the same with Flysurfer bar.
My wet weight is 80 kg plus have been kiting for more than 6 months.
Thanks for your help.

adjustable and what width is avail? Yes, 5cm and 10cm increments, don't know the width

self-unswivelling, I belived it was patented by CORE? Yes, by sheeting the bar fully in

rear lines can be adjusted in the floaters? Don't know, never tried

Can you use CORE bar on your Flysurfer? No, not easily because the bridle attachment points are different. Flysurfer use the easy line connectors that don't work with the pigtail arrangement.

Speed or psycho? No question the Ps4 is the best kite I've owned but it doesn't have the low end of the speed 2. Having said that i've never been a fan of the speeds. Ps4 is good from 10 knots with a big board and i'm maxed out at 20knots with a small board. It feels much smaller than it is and I have no trouble kitelooping it in lighter winds.

Hey Scott how are you mate? No I havent tried the GT - tried the combat a few times but couldnt handle the bar pressure but I have heard from John that the GT is much much better - unfortunately Im up north now and dont cross paths with him anymore - but as always keen to give it a bash!!!

The P4 is a great kite for light wind for me - I was kiting with a guy on a 14m Rebel today and I was jumping - average height - and front and back rolls - and still staying up wind most of the time - the Rebel was staying upwind just but no jumps etc... I did have another meter on him though and the wind was full of holes so it could of been compounded with bad luck getting all the holes.

I find the 15 nice for me from 14kts onwards on the TT at 100kgs - any lower than that and Im either just cruising on the Mal or surfing/boating - if you are 80kgs it would be at least 12kts maybe less - but it will take some dialling in to the kite - actually get better bottom end depowering about 50%!!!!

Thanks robbo ,it did answer most of my ???, just one final one to close the matter, do you think I have to go for 15m PSYCHO ( it sounds better than Speed) it must be a monster size for someone of 80 kg (keeping in mind that we are talking about uptodate kite not a dinosaur like PL for example), perhaps I could go upwind on 12m in 10/11 knots ( just that bloody green colour) also as far as my experience goes the smaller the kite the better jumps- I actually jump higher on my 7m than on 10.5m .
Thanks again.

Cezary, I'm 69kgs and I don't find the P4 too big at all. It's the biggest kite I've owned but feels smaller than the 12's and 13's i've previously owned. Once you get used to the flysurfers and know how to tune them you don't want to fly anything else, in fact I only bought the Core because Kitepower wouldn't sell me their Ps4 10m demo and their price was too good on the Core.

Considering how grunty the 10.5 GT is (so I'm told, I haven't used mine yet!) I wouldn't get the 12m Ps4.

Thanks robbo in due course I might pm you for some extra advice if you dont mind, in the meantime make an effort and try your GT ,I bet you like it perhaps so much that you will want to sell P4 LOL.
I think you cant compare FS to inflato they are just diffrent and it would be great to ride both IMO.
Especially now when FS made such great bar as CORE ESP, Icant imagine to use anything else from now on .
Cheers
