Designer and Features video just released. Some good info here incl the difference between the larger LW sizes and the way they have been optimized. Looking forward to seeing how the trailing edge bridle works on the 2 largest sizes.

Yes but check the run out for the length of the safety (to the stopper ball) is enough.

The Boost has arrived - Ive got it in the 13m, just had time to unpack and inflate before it got dark. Will try and get a few reviews up for you after Easter.

Did u get the infinity v3 bar?

Yep. I think the "race bar" will be launched with the Sonic. Smaller diameter and lighter bar than the Infinity 2 I believe. I've not had a close look but the hardware (safety, chicken loop etc) appears the same as 2. The endless unwinding works really well so no changes there.

Could you please include the Bar pressure in ur review. Maybe in comparison with the speed4 Dlx ( which is rather medium compared with the Lotus which is light).

No wind in SE QLD for a while and none of the current reviews even mention bar pressure yet.

Only Pete is qualified to conduct official WA Govt " Department of Marine & Harbours" reliability tests. He's providing a public service, nothing more, nothing less.

Thanks to James Harvey who kindly let me demo the new Flysurfer Boost 13m.
Out of the bag a quality looking bit of kit rolls out on the sand, as I'm a lazy bugger out comes the electric pump, there is a pocket attached to the centre strut containing an adapter to fit the larger size nozzle allowing correct fitment. Inflation reveals the Boost (I believe the colour combinations denote the kite sizes with flysurfer so green, purple, white and black for the 13m, 7m has the same colours but in different combination). As I was using a foil board I decided to use my ozone race bar as the standard bar that comes with the boost is for free riding and the trim/de-power are a bit of a reach, however you can order the Boost with the Flysurfer Sonic race bar so James tells me. I am comparing the Boost here to my 13m Edge and for racing with a foil, I will leave EPPO to cover the jumping and freestyle merits of the Boost.
Well the boost has no lack of grunt and certainly easily matches the Edge even in these lighter conditions; I recorded a 25 knot run with ease so double the wind speed. Up wind offered no disappointment the Boost pushes for the edge of the window with a constant pull and very smooth in its power delivery through the turns, this where the current Ozone Edge and the Flysurfer Boost differ IMO the Boost is quicker and crisper through the turns. Downwind on the foil with no de-power the Boost drifts nicely and easy to control with one hand allowing you to go as deep as you dare and keep contact with the rear lines. Over all I like the Boost for racing with a foil board and would like to try the smaller sizes 7m and 9m in stronger with conditions as this is where the foil kites are more problematic and LEI seem to be more stable. The Flysurfer bar and lines are high quality and IMO better than the Ozone offering although I have not tried the latest Ozone bar with softer bar ends as yet.

OK decided to test the relaunch of the Flysurfer Boost 13m today, relaunch is always important but not something we fully appreciate until we find ourselves swimming 400m off shore. Well many relaunch tests seem to be carried out in chest deep water with traction gained from contact with the sand/bottom, in my mind this is not a real test and it should be carried out in deep water suffice to say.
Now I've body dragged out to 15 foot plus of water and flown the Boost to the edge of the window and rolled her in (sorry James but have to test the relaunch means she’s got to get wet!), now the Boost wants to sit on its wing tip, not what I want to test, so I have to pull hard on the port tip rear line to force the kite leading edge down, this is not easy as the Boost is resistant to leaving the edge of the window (good sign she want to relaunch off the tip), having persuaded her to sit nose down/leading edge down, now I can test the reverse launch of this LEI kite, so I pull on both rear lines and the kite rises off the water about 200-300 mm and turns up onto a wing tip opposite too which ever you put more pressure on and she’s away back in the air. I have reverse launched many times using a foil kite but never found LEI kites willing to reverse launch so this is a great addition to this aspect of our sport well done Flysurfer.

I have a couple questions, actually maybe a few more than a couple if you don't mind. I know you only tried it in lightish winds on a foil board but I think you might be able to tell me:

Did you find you needed to get a bit of speed before the Boost got its power and did the power remain steady as your speed increased or decreased?

Did the bar pressure and turning pressure change with the power increasing or decreasing? Did it behave like the Edge?

Do you get any power spikes or power changes from an upstroke or downstroke while sineing the kite?

Do you reckon the Boost is a more freeride than the Edge but without it being too freeride like the Infinity/Fatlady type of kites?

Is the steering reasonably direct or is there any inherent "bridle kite" feel or lack of a better word, spongey?
