My Comments:
I surfed a FireWire dominator 5'8 recently and thought it would make a good wave kiting board. Has anyone out there got any advice / experience kiting this board or other models in the FireWire range?
I have some reservations.
The Dominator would be a good beginners board or a light wind board.
It has a wide and thick tail, so skims or slides around a lot, consequently it is hard to go rail to rail and needs a lot of back foot weight to make it turn. It would be a good beginners board to learn on as it would be stable and easy to get planning.
It also depends on your weight and the board size. I surfed a friends 6' 0" and didn't like it. It was easy to paddle into the wave but it was hard to turn. I am 85 kg so a 5'8" might be a bit better.
Depends what you want? I think as you are powered up on a kite you don't need all that volume of a Dominator unless you want a light wind board.
